🌿 WHAT’S UP WEDNESDAY 🌿

🌱 Perennial Garden Month Series | Part 2: SPRING CARE 🌱
Spring is the perfect time to give your perennial garden a strong start for the growing season! 🌼

Here are a few simple spring maintenance tips for Wisconsin perennial gardens:
💧 WATERING
Newly planted perennials need consistent watering during their first growing season. Water deeply 1–2 times per week rather than shallow daily watering to encourage deeper root growth.

🌱 MULCHING
Apply 2–3 inches of mulch around plants to help retain moisture, reduce weeds, and regulate soil temperatures. Be careful not to pile mulch directly against plant stems.

✂️ PRUNING & CLEANUP
Trim back dead stems and foliage left from winter growth to make room for fresh new growth and improve airflow.

🌿 W**D CONTROL
Spring is the best time to stay ahead of weeds before they spread. Pull weeds early while roots are still shallow.

☀️ WATCH SUN CONDITIONS
As trees leaf out in spring, some garden beds may receive more shade than they did earlier in the season. Monitor how much sunlight your plants are getting and adjust future plant selections accordingly.
