Pop-up thunderstorms are just part of summer in Eastern North Carolina. โ๏ธ But this one came with a pretty costly reminder.
A lightning strike energized this customerโs boat lift, causing it to run all the way up into the top beams.
The boat tipped forward off the lift and into the seawall โ damaging both the boat and the seawall. ๐ณ
Thankfully, no one was around the lift when it happened.
โ ๏ธ This is one reason we always recommend turning the power OFF to your boat lift when itโs not in use.
Whether you live on the water full-time or you're heading home from the beach house for the week, itโs a simple habit worth adding to your routine.
You can't control when the next summer storm pops up. But you can make sure your lift isn't sitting there powered up when you're not using it.
Boat up. Power off. โก๐
