For years I have collected green depression glass. Now green is hard to find in my area due to the trend of people wanting the green "uranium" glass. So, I turned to buying pink in the patterns I collect. Pink is very reasonable as far as price for now. I collect Adam, Cherry Blossom, Sierra and Floral patterns made by Jeanette Glass Company in the 1930s. They also blend well because the same company made them, I still like green, but pink sets a nice table also!

I made a post the other day about how I was excited that I'd finally dyed my hair again. I feel like the purpose of the post got a little blurred with the excitement of a new color...
The last few weeks, I've struggled to keep up with basic chores. I think depression is taking more of a front seat in my life again due to burnout from my work. Believe it or not, I am a State employee at a psychiatric facility working in direct care. Dyed hair, nose chain, and all. 😅
Dying my hair was probably one of the last things I could see myself doing the last few months even though I have wanted to. I've wanted to do laundry and deep clean my bathroom. I've wanted to go to the pool or spend time with friends. I've wanted to read a book. I've wanted paint. All things, I wanted to do but felt like I haven't had any energy for. I come home and I sleep. I forget to eat as well.
I am proud of myself for slowly trying to take the steps to get back into not only basic care but self care as well. For me, that can be dying my hair because every time I look in the mirror, I smile at the color and feel prettier than I normally feel when I feel off.
Color is one of the things that just brings me so much joy and while, my dye job may not be technically perfect, its perfectly wonderful to me. ❤️
To follow up:
✨️ Thank you for all the support. ❤️
✨ ️I used Adore semi permanent dye in the color Orange Blaze.
✨️ I have a predisposition to depression/anxiety and have been experiencing this on/off for most of my life. I'm in a place now where it manifests mostly as fatigue and lack of motivation. So, no worries there. I just treat it like having the flu now and do my best to treat the symptoms with patience, positive mindset, and setting small attainable goals. I know I'll feel more in control and things will be easier in time.
✨️ I understand social media is not the "best place" to look for advice on mental health, though I am not. I work in mental health care and I believe talking about these things makes them less scary. It normalizes that many people experience these things and as cheesy as it sounds, we're not alone. Mental health is such a broad spectrum of needs and paths to feeling safe--whatever that means for an individual. ❤️

Found this weird little guy in a vintage market in Havana. The switch-like think on the back opens the "pie holder thing." I can't find anything comparable. Any ideas?

Thank you for letting me join the group.
Yesterday was my 63rd Birthday , I've been working on putting together a retro vintage red and white kitchen, I collect Hoosier cabinets and restore them as my main hobby, Yesterday my hubby surprised me with this beautiful Marsh Hoosier 3 piece set to restore, I have already started by taking all the hardware off to strip the 5 layers of paint off , I'm absolutely in love with it 😀

I was at Aldi with my son and he sees the price of the hazelnut spread vs name brand and says, “ohhhhh that’s why you buy the Aldi brand.” Yep, if it tastes pretty close or just as good, I’m saving money to use for something else. DT also had a version in stores recently and I was pretty excited, but that was a nope. Back to Aldi hazelnut spread I went.

Fellow dullsters. I finally installed snow plow warning posts on my garbage bin as my old one was destroyed by plow last year. This is a Canadian issue and I want to be a perfect Canadian. While wife and teenage kids were sleeping in today, I got up in garage and made two fixtures for reflector posts that I found yesterday cheaply at dollar store. I found even the right drill bit but had to plug in charger for drill...because someone forgot to plug in when used months ago. Ahm...yours truly.
I couldn't find pressure treated wood. So went untreated. Installed in 15 min. No measurements. Just eyeballed. Proud to found solution as lid has overhang ! Total material cost Cdn$ 6.5 plus tax. I was even in housecoat and saluted to myself with a coffee and no sugar vanilla creamer. No comments from family thus far and not to be expected.
Of course, after installation I went to garage and found my small piece of leftover pressure treated wood. Contemplating in my mind...and decided that good is good enough and this will be a science experiment anyways to test if garbage box is safe from snow plow this winter. A dullster response!
Height of top of stick approximately 1.5 m in SI units or 5 feet in freedom units.
M, nearly half century. US 12 shoe size. No banana for scale as too lazy to get to kitchen to get one.

Let’s talk about that microwavable grilled cheese maker that came out a few months ago. If this product ever comes back, I highly recommend grabbing one. While it may seem lazy to some people, I actually think it’s pretty genius. I can think of so many reasons why it’s worth the purchase like college students who don’t have access to a stove, parents teaching young kids how to cook, people looking for easier cleanup, or older adults who no longer feel comfortable cooking over an open flame and it’s dish washer safe.
The first time we used it, I let my kids do everything by themselves. They lightly wiped the plates with olive oil, assembled the sandwhich, put the plates together, and cooked it in the microwave. My 10-year-old made the second one completely by herself, which is the more toasted sandwich in the last picture. For that one, we used ghee instead of olive oil before assembling and microwaving it.
Both sandwiches came out amazing. Some of you know, both of my children have food sensitivities and food aversions. One prefers crunchy foods and the other prefers softer textures. When we used the olive oil, the grilled cheese was fully cooked but stayed softer, which my son ended up loving. He ate about a quarter of the sandwich, which for his first time ever trying grilled cheese is a huge win and definitely not something I’m complaining about. 🎉
When we used the ghee, it came out nice and crispy, exactly how my daughter likes it. All in all, I absolutely love this grilled cheese maker and honestly don’t think I’ll be pulling out a frying pan to make grilled cheese again. I was also pretty excited that I found it on clearance for around $3, which made it an even better purchase. 🙌🏽❤️

Even the cashier had never seen this before. It was only because I picked up a bottle of chicken wine that was on promotion at the register that it happened. And we don’t want to run short with a party tomorrow.

🍞🍞🍞
I recently got some of the Aldi Almond Butter to try. I don’t think I’ve have a lot of almond butter so I’m not sure how theirs compares to others, but I really liked it. Trying to add some variety in my life so I thought I’d splurge on almond butter as an alternative to just using peanut butter. I included the nutritional info for those who are interested. I found it on the endcap with the peanut butter, jelly & honey at my store in Leesburg, Va.

I have never seen a stove like this one. Does anybody know anything about them? It is beautiful!
