Norwalk CT. Dispite ruff weather condtions we are moving forward at a steady pace. Installing a 24" PVC sewer directly next to the existing 15" clay pipe sewer. Some day are like brain surgery 17' deep ho-ramming out rock with out disturbance to the existing sewer then bury steel plates over trench box pave and open the road. All in a days work

Large pipe in tight spaces. New Haven Ct Orchard St sewer seperation GNHWPCA. Busy intersection in front of YALE St. Raphaels hospital. 54" RCP into a precast rectangular chamber. Project design was a 10' manhole. We discovered some differing condtions with regard to locations of a 30" sewer and ouher utilites. Last minute cooperative resign resulted in a recatngular chamber. Jon Gavin United Concrete pumped out shop drawings in hours, fabricated the chamber and had it on site in 5 days. Saved the day. CJ Fucci has great long time partners. GNWPCA, Cardinal Engineering, HERC/ American shoring. Quick Pick Crane Service. A parterning spirit gets thes best bang for the buck of taxpayer $$

The Old School Way. Started the next phase of Trumbull St.Area/Yale Campus Area sewer separation New Haven CT, in congested streets full of utilites. The proposed 36" 30" 24" RCP storm drain lines must be inststalled in very tight corridors between existing utilites in busy streets with limited working hours. This installation requires support of excavation left in place to avoid damage and provide permanant support to the existing utilites. The project design specified a beam and lagging system with no vibration. After 50 +/- test pits we concluded the window for our pipe was tighter than anticpated and beam and lagging would not fit. "Back to The Drawing Board". Working close with our in house team and our partners American Shoring/HERC and Geoengineers we designed modular sheeting frames with slim 6" walls using 3" hardwood timber sheeting. The system was submitted as an alternative at no addtional cost to GNHWPCA. Mission accomplished. Moving right along.
