Black Velvet Customs "Bring the talent and vision that only a master craftsman can into your home today. Our story began many years back. Learning basic skills and tool control.

Carpentry has been one of my life’s adventures. Jumping in to the skills at age 21, knowing nearly nothing of the trade. I started out as a complete rookie, and a helper on a large framing construction crew. Growing those skills over years of increasingly difficult designs, and adding to them with trades such as siding, interior trim, cabinet installation and others. Then learning remodeling, cab

inet building, rustic and conventional designs. Even now 26 years later, still mastering new techniques and enjoying new lessons building cabinets, furniture, and fine wood décor. We opened our own shop in 2012, and Black Velvet Customs was born. Carpentry has been an adventure, a passion, a career, and now an enjoyable hobby. Today I find joy in dreaming up exciting designs, building them out in my imagination, then diving into the shop and making those designs take life. Our shop has always been small, and always will be. No large run productions here. Every thing created is unique and rarely built twice. Wood working is a constant classroom. Every project mastered in love and passion. Teaching my sons things they can take into manhood with them, and passing along lessons hard learned, and skills to be proud of. Black Velvet Customs shop is nestled into a beautiful Idaho mountain paradise. Our shops adventures are far from the distractions and business of big cites. Inspired by the nature around us, and the beautiful scenery, dreams do come true at Black Velvet Customs. If you have a need for something beautiful to adorn your home, or kitchen. Completed the new walk in pantry for Cheryl at the BVC home today!

Walk in sensors illuminate the room as you step in with bright cool LED ceiling lights.
Beautiful butcher-block styled European Walnut counters, and modern open shelving offers plenty of working space and storage for every pantry need.

Solid Hardwood American Cherry cabinets painted with General Finishes China Blue milk paint and flat High Performance clear coat to protect it for years of use.

Interior spaces are accented with Antique White accents to brighten the cabinet and drawer.

Speaking of the drawer, its tucked away behind the main doors, and rolls out 18" and is a whopping 5½" deep for utensils, measuring cups, etc, with a matching walnut faceplate with inset cove cut handle and a peek a boo style China Blue accent backing.
Decorative Asian Ceramic door pulls, and rough sawn antiqued cherry floors to really set the contrast to it all.

Now with 1 room finished..time to get to the main kitchen to see if we can build it to match. :)

After a pressure wash and second coat of deck oil this deck is ready for the season and winter to come.

Love the look of Natural Redwood for a deck in the mountains.

Deck stone finally being applied. Handrails on the steps. This deck is headed for a late summer bbq opening party!

Well it has been a busy last few months around the BVC home. The outside remodel underway has come along ways. Winter is fast approaching and slowing down what remains to be completed.
So far the new roof is on. New waistcoat metal up to match. Body paint is on, trim paint will come next spring.
New eyebrow roof over the garage and stone work is up.
Lower deck is being framed up this weekend, and should be completed before too much longer.

So far an amazing transition from old cabin in the woods to a beautiful looking home.

Shout out to Angel Roofing LLC for the excellent work replacing the metal roof!

Joe Vasquez, with Vasquez painting of Meridian helping bring a beautiful new look to the home. Can’t wait for spring to come and see the full change take shape.

George Mathews Construction, putting down some great concrete work for the lower deck build.

Next spring we will have all the rock up around the new deck and a paver patio extension added out front.

The new garage door should be installed by Christmas!

Hope you like the updates going on. Stay tuned through 2022 for more!

Finally finished with this amazing transformation for Will and Aleah. A few final touches to go in the bathroom and its a wrap!. What an amazing transformation from beginning to end. One giant room converted to a luxury master suite. Full walk in closet, and huge bathroom showcased by full tile walkin shower, huge clawfoot stand alone soaker tub, heated tile floor, and a rustic vanity. (Barnwood mirrors coming).
New arched walk throughs added throughout opening the flow of the space tremendously. Modern greys and white color palates compliment the look.
Oh that new home smell just brings the job together.
