I know this is a long shot, but I figured I’d try.
We crossed paths in the tile aisle at the home improvement store.

You were pushing a shopping cart with several boxes of tile. I was wearing a Coastal Tile & Remodeling collared shirt and a hat, probably looking like I had somewhere important to be when, in reality, I was wandering around the tile aisle for the third time that day because that's what contractors do.

Our eyes met.

Just for a second.

But there was something there.

You looked at me.

I looked at you.

You looked back at me.

And as you slowly pushed your cart past, I couldn't help but turn around and watch you disappear down the aisle.

I've thought about that moment ever since.

Was it fate?

Was it chemistry, like a bucket of liquid waterproofing?

Were you hoping I would say something?

I'll probably never know.

But there was something in your eyes that I couldn't shake.

Something that said...
“I bought the tile myself and now I need someone to remodel my bathroom.”

Maybe I misread the situation.

Maybe you were just trying to find the grout.

But if you're out there, just know that I felt it too.

I also noticed you had approximately 42 square feet of tile in your cart, which isn't nearly enough for the shower you’re probably planning.

And please don't tell me you were planning on using the cheapest bid.

Wherever you are, mystery woman, I hope you found what you were looking for.
