- ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW -

Every so often, AVID’s Chief Architect, Jeffrey Geary, assigns a group project. We then present, compliment and critique each other’s work. This is known as an Architectural Review.

During the latest of Geary’s Challenges, the staff was assigned RENDERING.

RENDER: to create a realistic view, draw a life-like image, represent a proposed structure or space with accuracy. In computer-aided design, rendering is the creation of digital models to produce realistic images.

CHIEF’S CHALLENGE: Pick one of the HPD Affordable Houses, designed by Geary and Rappa, then RENDER it within its site.

FORMAT: Black & White, 1-2 hours max

PARTICIPANTS: The AVID Architecture Team

CINNAMON
Receptionist

Anyone who’s been to the AVID office has likely met our great Receptionist & Mascot, Cinnamon.

Her work at AVID includes guest announcements, food disposal and reminding employees to take their mandated breaks. The images attached to Cinnamon are reflective of AVID’s vast remote staff, as well as previous works that deserve honorable mention.

In her free time, Cinnamon enjoys walks in the park, chasing squirrels and protecting the Chief from loud noises.

ANTHONY MUSTO JR.
Draftsman / Junior Architect

Anthony Musto earned a Bachelor of Architecture from the prestigious Thomas Jefferson Philadelphia University. There, he explored theoretical architecture while serving his community through the Alpha Chi Rho fraternity. Seated on their executive board, he led fundraisers, tree plantings, cleanups and various charitable works.

During his education, Musto also explored the practical aspects of the field. He became employed by Registered Architects and began drafting their designs through roof raises, interior renovations, commercial remodels, warehouses, and several pharmacy/retail stores.

Upon joining the AVID Architecture team, Musto stepped into a role of technical support, employing his skills in mathematics, precision and efficiency. He is currently training in matters of Building Code, Zoning, Accessibility and Design, while also preparing for NYS architectural exams. When he is not studying, Musto enjoys drawing, exercising, traveling and building his photography portfolio.

MELANIE J. FOX
Designer / Project Manager

Melanie J. Fox is a phenomenal artist, interior designer and architectural powerhouse. From early childhood, her drawings have been best in class and that remains true to this day. Fox studied Visual Arts at the State University of New York, at New Paltz. She went on to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design, graduating with honors from the Fashion Institute of Technology.

With a strong foundation in design, Fox entered the professional world and her career immediately launched. Her site plans and interiors surpassed paintings and she rose through every office, from land surveying to construction management to high-end architecture to world renowned Interior Design firms. There, she learned intricate and ornate classical detailing, while refining her talents. She went on to design resorts in Turkey, a high rise in Paris, a NYC penthouse, several Hamptons shingle houses, high-end retail stores, celebrity homes and countless interiors (one of which became the backdrop of a music video).

With AVID, Fox brings this same sophistication to all of her designs. She immerses herself in the architecture. Working closely with clients, she intuitively discovers their styles, hopes, needs, and drafts them into existence. She delivers whole designs, from foundation to furniture. Fox’s work is predominantly contemporary with a classical aesthetic. In her free time, she enjoys rollerblading, swimming, painting, dancing and gardening.
