First look at the blue primary suite. 💙

After weeks of work, the first finished rooms in this Upper West Side brownstone are done. The bedroom opens to a wallpapered reading room, and the primary bath has a freestanding tub, a stone vanity, a separate shower and a private WC.

Calm colors, real materials, and details that do the talking. Still so much more to come in this house.

For an investment property, changing the layout is not automatically an upgrade.

Moving plumbing, walls or major fixtures adds real cost. Sometimes that is worth it, because it solves a real problem with the property. But if the footprint already works, keeping it frees up budget for the things buyers and renters actually see and use.

This bathroom is a good example. It needed a complete update, not a different room. The oversized tub became a walk-in shower, the finishes were updated, and the whole space feels new without paying to relocate everything.

Before changing a layout, ask what the change is really doing. Better flow? An extra bedroom or bathroom? Usable square footage? Something that protects resale or rental value? If yes, it can be worth it. If the answer is just that a different layout would be nice, that money has a better place to go.

On investment projects, knowing what not to change matters as much as knowing what to renovate.

From storage to home theater. 🎬

This Cresskill basement was unfinished storage and mechanical space. Now it is a room the family actually uses.

The square footage was already there. It just needed a plan. We framed and drywalled the space, then built a stage riser for the screen, a raised seating tier with step lights, a dark finish and acoustic panels to keep the sound in the room.

If your basement is only holding boxes, it may be the most underused space in your home, and one of the most transformable.

Almost there. 🏠

This Upper West Side brownstone is in the final stretch of a full gut renovation. Painters are on the last coats, wallpaper is going up downstairs, walls are getting prepped upstairs, and the first furniture just came up the stairs.

The last weeks are when everything happens at once. That is why one team runs every trade on site, so each room keeps moving toward the finish instead of waiting on someone else.

The kids' bathroom and bedroom are nearly done. More soon.

Small room, bold design. 🌿

This Palisades powder room proves a small space can take big ideas. Layered wallpaper, green tile, a graphic floor and brass details all live together without feeling busy.

The trick is balance. One color story ties it together, the brass repeats in a few small touches, and the floating sink keeps the floor visible, so the room feels open instead of crowded.

A powder room is the one room every guest sees. It is the perfect place to be brave.

Trust the process. It’s something you hear all the time in renovation, but the truth is, you can only trust the process if you trust the people managing it.

There is a lot of time and work between those first framing shots and the finished spaces you see at the end of this reel. And it’s rarely a perfectly straight line.

Things come up. Decisions change. Something behind a wall isn’t what anyone expected. A material is delayed. One decision affects three other things. That’s just part of renovating a home.

What matters is having a team that knows what to do next.

This recently completed Upper West Side renovation shows how much can be gained by making the space you have work harder.

Some projects come together in a way that feels effortlessly balanced, and this is one of them.

One of two bathrooms we recently completed as part of a home renovation in Rockland County, NY, this space is a great example of design that prioritizes longevity over trends.

We’re especially drawn to the design direction here. It feels classic European with a modern touch rather than trendy. The arched steel shower enclosure, handmade-look wall tile, checkerboard porcelain floor, warm wood vanity, unlacquered brass fixtures, and dramatic marble accents each make a statement, but none compete for attention. Together, they create a bathroom that feels layered, collected, and intentionally composed.

Design choices like these tend to age well because they’re rooted in proportion, materiality, and balance rather than whatever happens to be popular at the moment.

Behind the finished space, our team completed a full tub-to-shower conversion, new plumbing, waterproofing, updated electrical, tile installation, finish work, wallpaper, painting, and installation of the homeowner’s selected fixtures. Every detail, from what’s behind the walls to what’s visible every day, was carefully coordinated to create a bathroom that’s built to perform as beautifully as it looks.

We loved bringing this project to life, and knowing our homeowners are so happy with the finished result makes it even more rewarding.
