This project had great views. But in my humble opinion, after we finished, it had interior interest that rivaled the exterior landscape.

Artistic Tile has been part of every project I’ve touched, including my own homes. So when it came time to design the primary powder room in my new CT house, one of the most personal spaces in it, there was only one team I wanted in the room with me.

For the floor, we went deep on options before landing on a custom version of Palazzo Ducale, a tile that channels parquet de Versailles. We spent real time on the layout and worked through an enormous range of stone choices for the pattern. I chose earthy, neutral tones so the intricate pattern could do the talking, while the veining and tonality of the stone add their own quiet texture.

For the countertop and custom mirror surrounds, we used an Aella Marble slab. Its classic beauty and the way it plays off the floor stones made it an easy call, and the light veining creates a seamless line from counter to mirror frame.

This is the kind of collaboration I chase on every project: a partner who can match craft with vision. Grateful to keep building with Artistic Tile.

This apartment came together around what was already there. We kept the kitchen’s original wood graining. We didn’t need to reinvent it, just let it breathe. A few edits: we integrated a new ceiling lighting pattern, accent lighting over a corner banquette we designed, and pulled shelving from above the island so the view stays the focus while you’re cooking, making coffee, cleaning up.

That’s the whole approach, really. Work with what’s good. Remove what’s in the way. A kitchen should be utilitarian and soothing at once so that it’s built for use, not just for show.

I wanted to share something close to my heart. Homeworthy, a media platform devoted to extraordinary people and the beautiful places they call home, chose to feature one of my projects, my Connecticut home.

Their tagline says it best: “Every home has a story.” I’m grateful to have been part of telling this one, and even more grateful for the community of talented designers I got to share the spotlight with.

This project was designed as a part-time residence for our clients. It’s a wonderful couple. When we first saw this room it was a beautiful space because of the views and the size, but there wasn’t a ton of architectural detailing. We worked with Siris Coombs on the architecture, and developed really beautiful wall panelling and bronze metal detailing.

The focal point was designing this space around both intimate moments and larger gatherings. So the entertaining area became important and this bar became a focal point. We really wanted to personalize this design so we toured different showrooms and galleries for inspiration.

We had seen this specific art piece at a showroom, and we worked with the artisan to customize it both in size, layout and narrative.

We adjusted the sizing and layout so that we could really have it traverse these bronze shelves. With the imagery, we added subtle allusions to depict the couple in the scene.

This is a really great example of bringing the clients’ styles together and integrating it with the house. The husband has a little bit more of a modern aesthetic; we inherited the chairs and the side tables from his collection and our work was to layer these modern pieces with more classical, textural elements.

We added this really beautiful, sculptural wall votive story going up the stairs that spreads and gets lighter as you go up. It sort of feathers out and speaks with the pattern of the carpet, which is already a well-integrated material for the house.

This space is really about thoughtfully thinking about shapes and materials and colors and styles and how we can introduce different elements, but bring them all together.

This is a project that I love very much. This is the summer house for a client of ours. It’s a beautiful home.

They had worked with another designer on some elements of the home. We were luckily enough to join the project and serve as a tool to help the couple envision how their aesthetics would come together in a non-primary residence.

They wanted this to feel elegant and represent both of their styles but also be country appropriate. We did that by introducing really interesting accents like the printed linen dining chair upholstery fabric and contemporary yet floral-inspired light fixture.

Grateful to LUXE Interiors + Design for recognition in their “Luxury Living Report” issue.

Luxe has featured two distinct spaces from our Flatiron project. First, a jewel box dining room with the Empire State Building sitting right outside the window, and again the master bedroom featuring contrasting textured walls that are designed to enhance a grounded feeling among the incredible, expansive views.

This is the second of two model apartments that we designed for the developer at 18 Gramercy Park South. The goal here was to create an apartment with a traditionally based design aesthetic that would appeal to someone looking for an apartment in Gramercy Park, but still have it feel clean and effortless.

We selected all of the furniture, lighting, window treatments. For the entrance we combined a custom marble floor and a custom wallpaper from Susan Harter.
