Introducing Club Row! This renovation creates a new hub for student groups and clubs at John Jay College of Criminal Justice defined by its playful, collaborative atmosphere. Last week, we moved… down the hall! Our address is now 168 7th Street, Suite 3A, Brooklyn, NY 11215 – same building, same floor, just a different suite.

Thank you to everyone who worked on our new space, including our staff, who all pitched in on moving day. We’re still settling in, but we’re enjoying it already and are excited to share more about its design once all the loose ends are wrapped up. It’s great to have a bit more room for our growing studio, while staying in the same spot that we love.

We're excited to introduce Shakespeare Gordon Studio, the next chapter of our architecture practice.

We have a new look and a new website, but we aren’t a new firm. Instead, see this announcement as a renewal – of our commitment to our clients, to our staff, to our design community, and to our city. The core values and architectural sensibilities that have always guided our work remain central to our practice, and we remain proudly woman-owned. And what hasn’t changed is our commitment to providing design excellence and exceptional service to our clients, and to strengthening the built environment of our city through uplifting, inspired architecture.

We hope that our new name emphasizes the continued contributions of the talented studio of architects and designers that we lead, and we recently shared some exciting promotions. We’re also growing, with three new designers joining us in the first half of 2024. Their energy and talent make us even more excited for what the future holds.

We invite you to look around our new website – we think it’s excellent. This transition inspired us to update our graphics to better reflect the identity of our firm and to showcase our projects. Thank you to Stephen Lurvey and Dana Kim for lending us their graphic design and web development expertise.

Thank you for your support of our studio. We look forward to continuing our work and architectural practice for many more years to come!

A few years back, we rehabbed & secured the continued affordability of Borinquen Court, a residence serving Mott Haven seniors since 1981. And now we’re celebrating its expansion with Tres Puentes! Designed by , the two-building development flanks Borinquen Court with 175 new senior homes. The three buildings are connected by walkways and a shared community space.

All 175 apartments are for low-income seniors and 53 of them are designated specifically for older New Yorkers who experienced homelessness. We were lucky to meet many of the new residents today, including William, Solida, Altagracia, Milagro and Mr. Rodriguez.

NYC seniors can’t wait for affordable housing - that’s why our comprehensive senior housing plan combines new construction, preservation and age-friendly repairs to serve them in real time. In fact, since 2014, NYC has increased its investment in senior housing from $40M to $425M!
