introducing my latest collaboration X ARTIFACT - a study in contrast and continuity, inspired by ancient Roman mosaics — reinterpreted through a modern lens to honor history while feeling undeniably of today.

a mix of tumbled shapes and honed tesserae mosaics, Artifact is stocked in three colorways: Bianco Dolomiti, Bianco Antico, and Belgian Bluestone. the pattern is also available without inset shapes

i am taken over by complete gratitude, as this collection celebrates the magic or two - a pair - DUO. bringing beauty into the every day, an idea that was once just a series of sketches. now realized in the absolutely most magnificent natural material that nature has given us - stone. thank you to ARTISTIC TILE for never saying no… even when the idea is something that has never been done before….. and knowing there is way!

An oak-panel nook adds warmth to the living room, while the fireplace surround—a patchwork of Cipollino marble, Rojo al Andalus marble, and Silver Grey granite—beckons the eye toward the outdoor greenery. A selection of tables, including a Chris Wolston mirror-polished pouf, is as eclectic as the vintage chairs, upholstered in shearling and stripes.

The purple Dodu by Blu Dot is an upholstered take on a platform bed for the daughter’s room. A pair of tasseled Full Bloom pillows by Tamar Mogendorff recall vintage pin cushions, while the sunset-hued wall color has its roots in the origins of mom and dad’s love story: Brian was wearing a suit with an orange silk liner when he fatefully encountered Mara in an NYC elevator 16 years ago.

Each panel in the family room is a cabinet face disguising volumes of storage for games and toys. A custom wraparound sofa was designed with end seats that face the hidden cabinetry for play-in-place recreation. The family room is also where the above-named rug—Rose likens its yellow festooned motif to a handlebar mustache—is growing its plaited ponytail, the swishiest of the design’s menagerie of oddities. Commissioned chairs by Fort Standard with Rose’s own patterned, hand embroidered cushion fabric sits playfully with a custom game table by Rose.
“I wanted to introduce a ‘creature.’” Rose says. In this case, an anemone of Dr. Seussian proportions portrayed by a pink floor lamp from Brooklyn-based Opiary.
