💡 WIRING EXPLANATION BY CABLE GROUP
There are three distinct cable groups entering the single gang box each containing Black (Live/Phase) White (Neutral) and Bare/Green (Ground) conductors (the bare copper wire is hard to see but is essential):
1. POWER IN (SOURCE)
* Source of Electricity: This cable brings the constant power into the switch box.
* White Wire: The Neutral wire from the power source.
* Black Wire: The constant Live/Hot wire from the power source.
* Bare Wire: The Ground wire from the power source.
2. POWER OUT (TO NEXT LOCATION)

Rudd unit I helped install in 1987. All original except condenser fan motor fan capacitor. Even the same Freon. It’s never leaked as far as I know. Just needed washing today to help lower that head pressure.
No TXV
No nitrogen used
No scroll compressor
No vacuum pulled even though the line set sat open to the elements for months. Now somebody explain to me again how these newer units are so much more dependable and reliable.
