Stripped the internal hardware on my garage door handle. Called a locksmith, and he came, looked at it, and said he couldn’t help, since there’s no other way into the garage. I got to spend a dull morning cutting a me-sized doggie door so I could climb inside and replace the lock.

Bananas are in the garage, which is why I took such aggressive action.

Edit: to those asking, the garage is its own building with no other way in. I suppose that’s uncommon. Just drilling the lock wasn’t helpful because the mechanism that pulls the latch chains was stripped.

Another edit: there is no emergency pull cable on this setup, and no, I can’t remove siding and cut a hole in the wall on this property! The mansplaining in this group is incredible!
