Spring is in the air! It was a pleasure to attend the Spring Open House at Stonecrop Gardens on Sunday.

Visitors entering the Gardeners’ Bothy, designed by Janko Rasic Architects, are greeted by exquisite ceramic works by Michael Cole of Master Craft Ceramics. In the Common Room, Narratives in Wood: Photography and Wood Turning is now on view.

Congratulations to our good friend and neighbor, Andrew Harris, on being part of this beautiful exhibition. Some of his remarkable bowls were crafted from a tree from our property on Canopus Hill Road. Through Garrison Made, Andrew creates one-of-a-kind modern objects for the home from Hudson Valley wood.

Be sure to visit the exhibit through June 20. We are also excited for the upcoming exhibition by our friend, artist Dirk Westphal, Dahlia Mania, on view August 29–October 31 — a vibrant photographic study of dahlias and their striking symmetry.

A concrete boom pump makes quick work of the structural pour for this Palm Beach penthouse addition, planned by Janko Rasic Architects.

The articulated boom allows for precise delivery of concrete to elevated and otherwise inaccessible areas.

The reimagined layout expands interior living space to include a new guest bedroom and a more generous primary suite.

Perched above the Intracoastal Waterway, the wraparound terrace on all four sides offers sweeping views and seamless indoor-outdoor living.

“The Desmond-Fish Public Library is located in one of the most beautiful and inspiring sites in the Hudson Highlands, at the historic four corners in Garrison. The property on which the Library rests was both purchased and donated in 1978 and 1979; by 1980 it was transformed from hayfield to campus. When the Library opened its doors, the Library Board and dedicated volunteers planted trees but otherwise the outdoor property was left mostly alone. Branches were trimmed, the lawn was mowed, a small wetland emerged, but little was done to change the landscape. In 2020, a site plan supported by a New York State grant, was adopted after a two year community-focused design process to integrate the goal of using solar energy with expanding the public’s access to the beautiful natural habitats on the property.” - The Desmond-Fish Public Library
Preparations are underway for the groundbreaking of a new timber-framed solar pavilion at the Desmond-Fish Public Library in Garrison, New York.

This structure will provide a sheltered outdoor space for community gatherings, performances, quiet reading, and informal meetings. An enclosed storage area will support the popular annual used book sale and house.

Equipped with solar panels, the pavilion will also contribute to the Library’s sustainability efforts by powering a backup battery system for the main building.

Janko Rasic Architects is pleased to be part of the project team along with Badey & Watson Surveying & Engineering, Lancaster County Backyards, and Minardi’s Excavating.

Renovation and addition to “The Barn” in progress… Originally part of the Hallock Homestead, “the barn was built circa 1902 with a three stall horse stable, living quarters for the caretakers and a large open space on the first floor for hay and weekend visitors to park their carriages.”. In the late 1980’s the barn was converted into a residence.

Lesser Town Bridge Towers, Prague. "These two stylistically different towers, connected by a gate, form the entrance to the Lesser Town from the Charles Bridge. The smaller tower is Romanesque, dating from the 12th century; its current Renaissance appearance dates to 1591. The taller Late Gothic tower from 1464 is based on the architecture of Parléř's Old Town Bridge Tower. "
