Us Is More takes on DC!

On October 7th, we brought Us Is More to Manifest 002 in DC to celebrate a second pre-release book launch party. Being surrounded by such an incredible group of creatives, supporters, and friends reminds us why we built this monograph in the first place.

A huge thank you to the Manifest team for hosting us and to everyone who came out to share a drink, listen to our panel, and celebrate this special moment with us.

Us Is More is officially out in the world!

20 years of design, collaboration, and partnership condensed into 256 pages. What started as a shared passion two decades ago has grown into a body of work we’re endlessly proud to share. Us Is More is our love letter to design and the incredible people who helped us build it all.

Beyond the pages, Us Is More is about community, and our NYC pre-release party exemplified that sentiment.

On 9/30, we gathered at Kimpton Era to toast to our first monograph, showing once again that our work means so much more with the people behind it. A massive thank you to everyone who helped us celebrate and made this milestone so special.

Only one more day before the official release!

When context guides ex*****on, design evokes emotion.

For us, the story of a space truly comes alive in the details of its materiality and finish. By diving deep into the history, colors, and textures native to a location, we’re able to translate an initial concept into a rich, tangible human experience.

Whether it’s the raw grain of a wood slab tracing back to its original tree, or finishes that carry the warmth of age and human hand, every texture tells a story you can actually feel.

Architecture shouldn’t impose; it should guide.

Manifest is a sculptural third place where architecture moves and embraces, unfolding through a series of distinct, purpose-driven spaces.

At street level, the barbershop and the cafe pavilion connect under a light sage-green barrel vault of sweeping formal grandeur. The ritual of the barbershop is architecturally framed as a cultural symbol of stability and continuity.

What we build matters. How we build it matters more.

We don’t separate the well-being of the people who use our spaces from the health of the earth that supports them. By grounding our foundation in natural materials, intentional sourcing, and respect across disciplines, we design spaces built to support future generations.

Sculptural, structural, and striking all at once.

Inspired by the building’s original 1950 canopy, this lobby staircase releases the inner curve of plate steel. Engineered from 147 linear feet of steel burnished to a warm charcoal gray and detailed with 5,872 precision perforations, it connects the two lobby levels while serving as the room’s central artwork.

By pairing this raw industrial steel with warm, tactile wood and sweeping geometry, the design softens the arrival experience, transforming the space into a luxe, welcoming site for connection and creation.

Iris reimagines how sustenance, design, and social life intersect, grounding the architectural transformation of 1740 Broadway through tactile, high-craft details.

Hand-carved blond wood, mirror-finish chrome, and a sculpted inverted-deck ceiling bring the sleek feel of an Aegean yacht to Midtown. Every detail, from the low-slung banquettes to the ambient pools of light, is tuned to turn a meal into a restorative retreat.

Our studio is our castle.

An intensely personal portrait of INC’s ethos, our studio was designed to be deeply human, dynamic, ever-evolving, and richly layered.

It is a physical expression of our multicultural, multigenerational, and passionately collaborative culture, filled with greenery, collected materials, prototypes, objects, and details drawn from our projects, wanderings, and passions.

It’s officially September, which means we are less than 30 days away from the release of Us Is More!

Our studio is a physical reflection of the practice behind the book. When we first moved into our SoHo location in 2017, we pared the space back to its architectural shell, uncovering original 1930s concrete aggregate filled with whole pebbles and natural gravel.

The columns, walls, and ceiling were sandblasted to bring forward the natural and honest beauty of the existing raw concrete, while the floor was polished to a high-gloss finish throughout. Paradoxically more warm than brutal, the space has since served as a historic backdrop grounding our forward-looking firm.
