Each perforation of the baluster is intentional. The twinkle pattern modulates brightness, shields the lamp source, and delivers a comfortable low-glare illumination for the stairs. Up close, the (apertures) openings, read like a field of stars, adding a subtle texture of light within the sandy beach terrain.

The reimagined MoMA Design Store was designed to evolve. Our lighting system adapts seamlessly to changing displays and retail needs, supporting everything from seasonal collections to the large-scale artwork visible from Spring Street. The result is an environment that remains flexible, immersive, and future-focused.

Ever seen glass glow?
Eileen visited Carter Country Museum in Ekalaka, Montana, and checked in on the UV room and case lighting we designed. The uranium glass cups lit under ultraviolet atoms catching energy and giving it back as light. Fossils sat in plaster jackets, part rock, part bone, holding stories millions of years old. The carries so much science and history, like many others, it relies on donors to keep uncovering the past. If you’re ever in Montana or love dinosaurs this is a must visit!!

Meet our Marketing Coordinator and Lighting Designer, Theressa. She rejoined the PLS team earlier this year, bringing over a decade of design experience. Theressa believes light is ephemeral, shaping moments, guiding emotion, and transforming space without needing to be seen. With a background that spans interior architecture, communications, and lighting, she approaches each project as a layered experience. For her, light works in harmony with form, material, and story to reveal the spirit of a space.
