RAISE THE ROOF - Discussing the Durability & Material Factors
Why is Asphalt Material (3-tab) not the most durable?
While most of us use Asphalt Material, they are not the best for most homes. First, they're not weather durable. Asphalt is more susceptible to inclement outdoor conditions damage and more often than not, those shingles from those roofs fall off. Second, while it is a more cost-effective material in the short-run, there are a lot of repair costs associated with Asphalt.
So, what to do? Every roof is evaluated on a case-by-case basis for the home dependent on specific factors such as cost and infrastructure. If you want to have a lasting rooftop, here are the alternatives:
-Architectural Asphalt Shingles: 30 years
-Metal Roof: 40-80 years
-Copper Panels: 70+ years
-Synthetic Slate: 50-70+ years
-Slate: 75-150+ years
-Clay Tiles: 100+ years
-Concrete Tiles: 100+ years
