My recent work focuses on nature in the city. She maintains a studio Brooklyn, New York.

I've been inspired by the increase of trees, parks, and plantings in NYC and the vision of an urban environment infused with natural elements. I'm compelled by contrasts and patterns created by these natural elements growing in the city setting; soft leafy greens against solid geometric forms; living breathing, growing, and changing textures against static surfaces. I depict these overlaps of orga

nic with concrete and the life force that can coexist with and surge through the urban environment. Process:

I paint on site; en plein air; directly from life in an alla prima fashion in order to directly observe and capture the color, temperature, light, and gesture of the subject. I complete and expand upon these out door sketches in the studio. Bio:

I studied Fine Art at Hamilton College and received training at The Art Student's League from her instructor and mentor Gregg Kreutz. She also took workshops other internationally known artists such as Sherrie McGraw and Scott Christenson. She exhibits with many national and regional juried shows and leads and annual "Meditative Painting Retreat" in the Catskills. Personal Note:

I enjoy gardening, vegetarian cooking, and meditation. These combine activities form the fertile ground for creativity.
