Same drawings. Three different prices.
Why?
Because contractor bids are not always based on the same assumptions.
One bid may exclude site protection, permit fees, patching, or final cleaning. Another may include them. Allowances, finish standards, supervision, and schedule assumptions can also vary.
That means the lowest bid is not always the lowest final cost.
Before comparing totals, make the bids comparable:
Same scope.
Same allowances.
Same exclusions.
Same schedule assumptions.
Then compare the price.
Rule #6: Make every bidder price the same project.
