For us, integrating photovoltaic glass is not about adding technology to a building. It is about using existing surfaces in a smarter way.

Over the years, we have worked on projects where façades, skylights and horizontal elements were designed to combine enclosure, light control, insulation and energy generation without altering the architectural language.

This approach comes from experience. After more than 15 years working on real projects across different climates and building types, we know that integration only works when it is considered from the early design stages.

After more than 15 years integrating photovoltaic glass into buildings, one thing is clear to us: the most important work is not always the most visible.

Every project starts long before manufacturing. We analyze orientation, regulations, light transmission, solar control, required power, and construction details to ensure proper integration.

The result is an architectural element that generates renewable energy, improves the building’s insulation, and blends naturally into the original design.

Because integrating energy into the building envelope is not just about producing electricity. It is about doing it right from the very first drawing.

We’re pleased to share that the ENSNARE project, in which Onyx Solar plays a leading role, has been awarded Best Innovation Project 2025 at the 12th Energy Efficiency and Sustainability Awards organized by A3E.

At Atlassian Central in Sydney, together with Metz, we are integrating 1,794 PV glass modules into the building envelope. The façade generates power and provides self shading to help reduce cooling loads.

On Thursday 16 October, from 5:30 to 8:00 pm, join us at Metz Gallery, Brisbane. Our CTO, Dr Teodosio del Caño, will share design criteria and use cases across facades, skylights, canopies and louvres.
