Due to the unavailability of the exact size, the replacement process was slightly more complex. After completing the task and ensuring the house was cooled, I'm now prepared for the summer season. This was accomplished before my husband returned home. I appreciate the guidance and confirmation provided by various individuals in this post. I am seeking guidance on diagnosing issues with my HVAC system before proceeding with potentially costly repairs. The system is a 2021 Goodman 3.5-ton unit with matched indoor and outdoor components, cooling a 1,600 sq ft raised residence in South Mississippi. The house has two 24x24 return air grilles with filters. During periods of extreme heat, the AC unit fails to maintain a consistent temperature, gradually rising from 68° to 71°. Despite this temperature fluctuation, the system operates normally without signs of freezing. Notably, the blower compartment's insulation remains wet from condensation, particularly during hot and humid conditions. Given the system's details, including the Goodman 3.5-ton condenser (GSX140421KF) and Goodman air handler (ARUF43D14AD), and the house's design, including ductwork in the attic and lack of insulation under floor joists, would the issue most likely be related to refrigerant levels, airflow problems, duct leakage, condensation issues, or attic heat gain? What diagnostic approach would be most effective?
