Huge shoutout to Sister Peg-dafittr Costello , a 35-year UA member, for taking the time to share her incredible journey with the Careers in Construction pre-apprentices Rebuilding Together NYC ! 🛠️💪

Peg gave the students invaluable insights into the world of pipefitting, from the challenges to the rewards. She also answered all their burning questions about traveling, the construction trades, and life as a union worker.

The Sisterhood is so grateful for Peg's dedication to inspiring the next generation of skilled tradespeople!

Last Friday, the New York City Tradeswomen Meet Up kicked off our April Meet Up event where Tradeswomen come to celebrate solidarity and mutual support within the New York City Building trades labor community. Everyone was welcome, from pre-apprentices, to apprentices, journey persons, and all friends of Labor, came out to join us for an evening of connection and camaraderie.

I believe these events offer a space for women to share valuable advice, offer support, and build lasting relationships with like-minded individuals in the industry. Our gatherings blend casual hangouts with organized affairs, providing a platform for women to network, unwind, and strengthen their presence in the trades.

The NYC Tradeswomen Meet Up is dedicated to empowering women in the trades, fostering unity, and showcasing the strength of sisterhood among women in these male-dominated fields.

Join us at our next event to be a part of a community that uplifts, inspires, and advocates for change within the industry.

Call for Stories - Share Your Story

The National Tradeswomen Taskforce is putting out a call for tradeswomen to share their stories and experiences with childcare and care responsibilities while working in the skilled trades.
