Bedford Green House has been honored with a Design Award of Excellence at the 2026 SARA CA Design Awards!

This achievement reflects the hard work and dedication of our entire project team. Project Architect Ari Terian, AIA, traveled to Los Angeles to accept the award on our behalf—having guided Bedford Green House from Phase I through Phase II, he was the perfect representative.

What an incredible evening at The Bridge 2026 Gala!
Congratulations to honorees Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg and our longtime collaborator Carole Gordon, SVP of Housing Development at The Bridge. We’ve had the privilege of working alongside Carole for years (most recently completing Boone Avenue) and we couldn’t be prouder. Looking forward to what’s ahead as we continue designing The Bridge-Inwood alongside Radson Development: a 14-story mixed-use building bringing together 162,300 SF of affordable housing, mental health services, and a youth recreation center operated by Manhattan Bible Church.

In honor of Mother’s Day, we had the privilege of sharing the morning with the Odyssey House community ( ). Three mothers shared their journeys of recovery with honesty and grace, and seeing them with their children by their sides, glowing with pride, was a moment we won’t forget. That transformation, from vulnerability to joy, was beautiful to see. These mothers remind us of what love, courage, and community can build.

We were equally moved by the Odyssey House staff, whose love for their clients and for one another was felt in every moment of the morning. The care they pour into this work goes far beyond a job—it is a calling.

A heartfelt congratulations to this year’s honorees: Julia Watt-Rosenfeld, recipient of the Advocacy Award, and Patricia Lincourt, Deputy Commissioner of Programs at NYS Office of Addiction Services and Supports, recipient of the Public Service Award. Your dedication to this community is an inspiration.

We’re thrilled to share that our addition to PS 108X in the Bronx has been recognized with the 2026 PCI Northeast Showcase Award | Best in Precast: K-12.
A huge shoutout to Project Architect Connie Cheng, RA, whose dedication to the intricate precast detailing made this façade what it is. She attended the showcase to accept the award on our behalf, and we couldn’t think of anyone more deserving to be there!

Adding onto a beloved 1937 school is no small feat. Our design honors the campus’s Art Deco character through 277 custom precast panels spanning 34,000 SF, featuring thin brick, custom form liners, and carefully detailed reveals that bring shadow, rhythm, and depth to the façade. Additionally, the insulated precast system delivers a high-performance envelope that keeps students comfortable, reduces energy use, and is built to last.

None of this would have been possible without the talented craftspeople, manufacturers, and consultants who helped bring this façade to life:

PS32K has been selected for the Beverly Willis Architecture Foundation’s Built by Women 2026: New York City map, a juried initiative recognizing the meaningful contributions of women across architecture, engineering, landscape, development, and construction.

ESKW/Architects was proud to attend CHPC’s 66th Annual Luncheon last week, celebrating New York City’s housing and planning community. Congratulations to this year’s honorees: Baisley Pond Park Residences (Slate Property Group & RiseBoro Community Partnership), Richard Buery & Alec Schierenbeck of the 2025 NYC Charter Revision Commission, policy journal Vital City, and NYC HPD’s Michael Sandler.

A standout moment was Mayor Mamdani’s announcement of a first-of-its-kind city-backed insurance program to reduce premiums for affordable and rent-stabilized housing, targeting 100,000 homes by 2030. A bold step toward addressing one of the fastest-growing cost drivers in affordable housing.

With Partner KimberlyMurphy joining CHPC’s board this year, we look forward to deepening our connection with CHPC and continuing our support of its vital mission for years to come.

We are thrilled to share our latest groundbreaking! River Avenue Apartments II for Community Access broke ground yesterday, commencing construction on the $225M development in the West Concourse neighborhood of the Bronx. Once completed, the project will provide 292 affordable homes, including 173 supportive units with access to on-site supportive services.

It’s a pleasure to work alongside Community Access, Blue Sky Bronx, and Mega Contracting Group once again. With vital support from NYS Homes and Community Renewal, the NYS Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance, and NYC Department of Housing Preservation and Development, nearly 300 families will soon have a place to call home.

Residents will include veterans, those living with mental health challenges, and formerly homeless New Yorkers. We can’t wait to see this community come to life. Follow along as construction progresses!
