Promethean Builders, in joint venture with Turner Construction Company, is serving as construction manager for the $335 million Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) Lincoln Center West Initiative, a landmark redevelopment that will transform the western edge of the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts campus.
Designed by WEISS/MANFREDI Architecture/Landscape/Urbanism (Design Architect), Hood Design Studio (Landscape Architect), and Moody Nolan (Architect of Record), the project will open the campus to Amsterdam Avenue, creating a more accessible and connected civic landscape through the integration of new public spaces, performance venues, and green infrastructure.
Construction includes The Baron Theater, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Gardens, the John and Susan Hess Family Plaza, the Len Tow Community Stage, extensive site and utility improvements, expanded accessibility throughout the campus, and the replacement of the existing Amsterdam Avenue wall with landscaped public spaces.
The Baron Theater – Construction of a state-of-the-art, 2,000-seat permanent outdoor performance venue.
SNF Gardens – Creation of a dynamic "theater in a park" featuring a 50% increase in trees and landscaped green space.
Community Spaces – Development of the John and Susan Hess Family Plaza and the Len Tow Community Stage, creating new opportunities for gathering and performance.
Campus Transformation – Removal of the existing Amsterdam Avenue walls to reconnect Lincoln Center with the surrounding neighborhood through expanded public access and enhanced streetscapes.
Construction is underway, with completion anticipated in 2028.
