Whether you celebrate the Christmas tradition or simply get to enjoy a day to relax and unwind, Zara Plumbing team wish you a happy and safe holiday season.
We probably say the same thing at this time every year, but 2020 seems to have been such a long and trying year for so many, but now it’s really timely to pause and be thankful for all the good that we have — most of all, ourselves and our loved ones.

We present to you 🛠• Lesson #10
•🚨 Upright sprinkler heads project up into a space and have deflectors that spray the water downward. They are generally used in mechanical rooms or other inaccessible areas to provide better coverage between obstructions like beams or ducts. They also provide a circle spray pattern.
•🚨 The basic difference between fire-preventive upright sprinklers and pendant sprinklers is the position each takes on a water pipe. An upright sprinkler, as its name implies, stands atop the pipeline, whereas a pendant type hangs from the pipe.
•🚨 These can be designed to respond to specific temperatures, with the liquid in the bulbs being colored in accordance to the heat that will trigger them. For instance, the most common sprinkler head is designed with a red glass bulb, which means it will activate when the temperature reaches 155 degrees Fahrenheit.
•🚨 The average water pressure for most homes and businesses is between 30 psi and 50 psi; most sprinkler systems are designed to use pressures of around 30 psi. You can measure the water pressure at your site with a flow meter or water gauge attached to an outdoor faucet.
•🚨 The liquid within the ampule of the sprinkler head is a mixture of alcohol and water or glycerin and water. The % of each is changed to determine the activation temperature of the head.

• A residential concealed fire sprinkler head is a 'fast response', two stage devise, the size of a down light. In the event of a fire reaching its operating point, the flat plate will drop from the devise and the deflector plate of the sprinkler head will then drop below the ceiling level.

• The pendent (sometimes spelled "pendant") fire sprinkler hangs from above-ceiling pipes and distributes water in a domed or conical pattern using a convex deflector.
