The Godrej Headquarters is the first piece of the Godrej Master Plan. A large park will form the heart of this mixed-use development, with unique and colorful pocket parks integrated into the spaces between the architecture. Rooted in Godrej’s commitment to ecology and sustainability, the overall landscape concept is designed to manage the site’s water. Water, both abundant and scarce, is a valuable resource in the Mumbai landscape. Various measures collect stormwater during the summer and use it when rainfall is limited.  On the building, the celebration of water is the central idea for the landscape spaces which weave throughout. Integrated water systems move through the project’s tree swales and green roofs that collect, clean and recycle the water which is used to irrigate the plantings and replenish the Water Gardens.

The design of Centro Lola Mora is completed!
Lola Mora (1866-1936) was an Argentinean sculptor who created wonderful monuments across Argentina. A rebel, she is recognized as the first South American woman in her filed. We look forward to starting phase 2 with the landscape restoration of 15 hectare on the bank of the Rio Grande.

Balmori Associates 1990-Now

We are an international urban and landscape design firm. Founded by Diana Balmori in 1990, the office is now led by partners Noemie Lafaurie-Debany and Javier Gonzalez-Campana, and supported by a multi-disciplinary, multi-lingual team. We are recognized across the globe for our interfacing of landscape and architecture.

philosophy/manifesto

The main tenet of our work is to set up a different type of relationship between ourselves and each of the elements of nature: soil, water, air, plants and animals. We want to change our ways of dealing with them, treat them as parts of ourselves. To do this, two sustainable design principles guide us: to have low-impact, and to be regenerative of the sites we work on.
