This summer, we had the pleasure of welcoming two Construction Management majors from California Polytechnic State University, Mauricio and Erik, to intern with the Wesely Thomas team.

Over the past two months, they gained hands-on experience in project management, field operations, and collaboration while working alongside our incredible team. We're proud to have been part of their journey and grateful for the hard work, enthusiasm, and fresh perspectives they brought every day.

As they head back to Cal Poly for their senior year before graduating in May 2027, we wish them nothing but success. Thank you, Mauricio and Erik—we can't wait to see what the future holds for you both!

We’re proud to have partnered with Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital in Valencia, CA to bring this innovative Emergency Psychiatric Assessment, Treatment, and Healing (EmPATH) unit to life.

Hospitals across the country are rapidly adopting EmPATH units to provide a better alternative to traditional emergency rooms for patients experiencing mental health crises. Designed as calm, therapeutic environments, these units help stabilize the majority of patients within 24 hours, allowing many to safely return home while reducing strain on emergency departments.

This project transformed four existing suites into a dedicated behavioral health crisis stabilization space, creating a welcoming environment where patients can receive timely psychiatric assessment, treatment, and compassionate care.

We’re grateful to our client for their trust and confidence in our team throughout this project. It was an honor to help deliver a facility that will make a meaningful impact on patients and the community. As more hospitals recognize the value of EmPATH units, we look forward to partnering on additional projects that expand access to these innovative behavioral health spaces and improve care for those in crisis.

We recently completed the renovation of the Sharon S. Hanes High School Library, transforming over 12,000 square feet into a modern, inviting learning environment designed to inspire collaboration and connection.

The sleek new space emphasizes community, offering students flexible shared areas and study rooms where they can learn, create, and work together. One of our favorite features is the operable accordion-style glass wall that fully opens to the atrium, seamlessly connecting the library to the beautiful outdoor courtyard with its mature oak tree and peaceful stream—bringing natural light and nature into the everyday learning experience.

During our recent job site visit, our boss gave us a tour of the completed space and walked us through the project, highlighting the thoughtful design details and craftsmanship that brought this vision to life. It was a great opportunity to see firsthand how every element came together to create an inspiring space for students and staff.

The project included a new operable folding glass wall, full-height fire-rated partitions, interior fire-rated storefront systems, updated FF&E, new lighting, ceiling replacement, and ADA improvements to three existing restrooms.

We're proud to have been part of a project that will positively impact students for years to come!

Building Community, One Playhouse at a Time!

Wesely Thomas was honored to support Habitat for Humanity of Ventura County Playhouse Build Blitz, a community event dedicated to giving back to local military and veteran families.

Our team joined volunteers across the county to design, build, and decorate a custom playhouse for a local military family — creating a space for joy, imagination, and play. Meeting the family and presenting their finished “Outer Space”- themed playhouse was a meaningful reminder of what community service is all about: connection, gratitude, and shared purpose.

We’re proud to partner with Habitat for Humanity in strengthening our community and supporting those families who give so much for us.
