On September 12th in Wilmington, North Carolina, the annual American Craft Walk takes places as one of the best “shop local” events you’ll find anywhere up and down the North Carolina coast this year! From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., historic downtown Wilmington, NC turns into a huge open-air art market, with more than 100 regional artists and makers filling Front Street from Orange Street to Walnut Street and Princess Street from Front Street to 2nd Street.

As you walk from booth to booth, you can meet plenty of local jewelry makers, painters and other visual artists, photographers, potters, glass artists, woodworkers, fiber artists, clothing makers, sculptors and other craftspeople. Everything centers around handmade work, making this a great place to find something truly different for your home or a one-of-a-kind gift. You can talk with the makers, see the wide range of styles on display and spend hours browsing the tents along Wilmington’s picturesque downtown streets. Admission is free, and downtown restaurants, coffee shops, breweries and other places to eat and drink are just steps from the festival!
