🏡Today we wanted to revisit a community we built that has found its footing.
Padgett Place began as a planned 42 Craftsman-style home community in Black Mountain, NC. It was built for people who valued thoughtful design and a lighter footprint. Earlier this year we finalized the sale of the last home we built at Padgett and then the community began to run itself with its own elected Homeowners Association. We enjoyed watching the homes transform from blueprints to a genuine neighborhood.

Proud of what Padgett Place has become, and grateful to everyone who helped build it along the way.

The Quartz Modular Team got a great view of downtown Asheville recently while setting this home with Alair Asheville Red Tree. This build uses precision-built floor, wall, and roof panels from CertainTeed One Precision Assemblies (OPA) system. Learning about and installing different types of offsite construction is an exciting part of what we do. We look forward to seeing this home when it is fully complete!

Recently our Quartz Transport & Install teams from Florence and Asheville worked together on this big manufactured home install. It's rare that these teams overlap; but when they do - it's to pull off something HUGE! 👏

We are so excited about our first commercial office project, and how far it has come in only 4 months. The 10 boxes were set in 2 days by our Quartz Modular team, and since then the inside of this 8,888 SF building is coming along. We plan to have this building finished (weather permitting) by end of September!

is bringing a beautiful home to life overlooking the downtown Asheville skyline, and our team is proud to have worked on the project.

Built with Certainteed's One Precision Assemblies (OPA) system, this home uses precision-built floor, wall, and roof panels with framing, insulation, weatherproofing, and many windows and doors already integrated before they ever reach the jobsite. Our crew raised those panels on site, assembling the home's floor, wall, and roof systems.

The payoff of the panelized approach is a tighter, more consistent building envelope, faster build times than traditional methods, and greater energy efficiency.

Many thanks to Brandon Bryant of Alair Asheville | RedTree for being a wonderful partner and supporter of our team, and a champion of the benefits of offsite construction. We're grateful for you, Brandon, and all of the team!

Excited to watch this one come together.

We’re pleased to be featured in the 2026 Modular Home Buyer’s Guide published by the Modular Home Builders Association!

Our contribution focuses on a part of modular construction that is easy to underestimate: what happens between the factory and a finished home.

From the outside, modular construction can look almost instantaneous. A home arrives in sections, a crane lifts the modules into place, and by the end of the day there is something on the foundation that looks remarkably close to a completed home. That's certainly the advantage of modular, but executing that stage well requires significant advance planning.

A successful set depends on weeks of coordination: route planning, site access, staging, crane sizing, lift sequencing, foundation readiness, weather windows, structural connections, dry-in work, inspections, and the handoff to finish trades. That is where modular construction either works as intended or starts to lose the advantages it promised.

At Quartz, we have learned that modular delivers its greatest value when it is treated as a system:

The factory matters.
So does the design.
So does transportation.
So does the crane plan.
So does the set crew.
So does the general contractor who understands what happens after the modules are placed.

We appreciate the MHBA’s work to educate buyers, builders, lenders, and public officials about modular construction, and we’re glad to be part of a guide that helps explain the process with more clarity.

The full guide is a useful resource for anyone considering modular construction or trying to better understand where it fits in the broader housing conversation.

This 4th of July is especially meaningful as our country celebrates 250 years of independence.

At Quartz, we’re reminded of what’s possible when people come together with a shared purpose. Through the projects we build, the partners we support, and the communities we strengthen, we’re proud to contribute to work that makes a lasting impact.

We’re grateful for our incredible team, whose dedication, diverse perspectives, and commitment to our mission make Quartz stronger every day.

We're also deeply grateful to the members of our team who have served our country, and protected the freedoms we're celebrating today.

Wishing everyone a wonderful 4th of July!

This Memorial Day, we pause to remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their courage, sacrifice, and devotion to something greater than themselves made possible the freedoms we hold dear today.

We honor the fallen, and we stand with the families and loved ones who carry their memory.

Last week was a busy week for the Quartz Modular team!

This 9,000 square foot office building was a 10-box set, which the team completed with two active set days and a lot of pre-planning. They pre-staged all ten boxes in advance, and two cranes were scheduled back to back so the set days could run start to finish without losing time. Rain (badly needed across WNC) moved in early in the week. Even so, the team coordinated around the weather and stayed on schedule.

We were deeply honored to set this project for Kituwah which is wholly owned by the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. Kituwah's mission is to create or acquire profitable and sustainable businesses and investments that provide substantial opportunities for the EBCI.

This building is much-needed office space for Kituwah's team, who are guided by the principle that when opportunity is Tribal-owned, the benefits return home. Kituwah invests, launches, and operates businesses that protect sovereignty, generate revenue, and expand opportunity, so future generations inherit more than what was given.

A testament to this guiding principle: the modules you see here were built in the Cardinal Homes factory, which is also owned by Kituwah.

A big thank you to Kituwah for the trust placed in our team, and a big thank you to the Quartz Modular crew who worked together to make this set a success!
