Join us next week as we open Newton's newest public park, the R. Michael Rhoades Wetland Park! The dedication and ribbon-cutting ceremony will be at noon, Thursday, Nov. 30 at the park, 1012 SW 14th St. Grand Opening of R. Michael Rhoades Wetland Park

The public can view the new park and the waterfowl at the existing wetlands and even help spread seeds in the new prairie area until 3 p.m., weather permitting. Parking is very limited, so carpooling is appreciated. Overflow parking will be available across the street at both Bridges Inc. and Source of Light.
