🍂 Don't toss those summer containers just yet!

Fall is the perfect time to give your pots a seasonal refresh — and it doesn't have to mean starting from scratch. Here are a few of our favorite tricks:

🌿 Swap in bold foliage — Wine-red coleus, coral bells, and Japanese forest grass add rich fall color without a full replant.

🌸 Tuck in cool-season bloomers — Pansies planted now (while soils are still warm) will bloom all the way through spring.

🌾 Add an ornamental grass — Purple fountain grass brings instant drama and height to any existing container.

🎃 Try the pumpkin hack — Pull a tired annual and plunk a pumpkin in its place. Done and done.

🍁 Play with texture — Heather, hypericum berries, and heavenly bamboo create beautiful, layered fall displays.

Whether you're a weekend gardener or a design enthusiast, a little creativity goes a long way this time of year. Our team loves helping clients keep their outdoor spaces looking beautiful in every season — containers included.

August in the Meadow — Day 30 ✨

Of all the scenes we’ve shared this month, this one holds a special place.

It captures the essence of why we design with native plants: the quiet grace, the vibrant ecology, and that timeless connection to the natural landscape of our region.

August in the Meadow — Day 27 🌾

Just as some summer blooms begin to fade, the late-season champions step into the spotlight.

Goldenrods and native asters are beginning to take center stage, providing an essential final burst of nectar for migrating monarchs and overwintering bees before autumn settles in.

August in the Meadow — Day 26 🌇

Late August evenings bring a warm, amber light that transforms the entire landscape.

As the sun dips low, meadow grasses and seed heads catch the backlight and glow like stained glass. It’s the kind of effortless evening view we love designing for local homeowners to enjoy from their patio.

August in the Meadow — Day 25 🚶‍♀️

The secret to wild beauty in residential design is intentional framing.

A crisp mown path, a stone border, or a defined edge gives a meadow planting structure, inviting you to wander through and experience the landscape up close while keeping the property looking polished.

August in the Meadow — Day 24 💧

Early morning in the meadow has a quiet rhythm all its own.

Before the sun climbs high, dew clings to delicate spiderwebs, grass blades, and flower petals, capturing the first light. It’s a peaceful reminder of the small daily moments that make native landscapes so rewarding.

August in the Meadow — Day 23 🌍

The magic of a meadow happens from the ground up.

Beneath the tall blooms and waving grasses lies an intricate network of deep, native root systems. They build living soil, filter stormwater, and create drought resilience that conventional lawns simply cannot match.

August in the Meadow — Day 22 🎨

Nature is masterclass in color harmony.

In a meadow, colors don’t compete—they complement. The contrast of warm yellows against deep purples, softened by muted green and golden grasses, creates a natural balance that always feels right at home in our local landscapes.
