True's Towing and Recovery, Travis True, Jason Hurrle with Hurrle and Sons! All I can say is wow! When we make that call, you and your company's show up, well equipped, ready to work, no knowledge as to what you are getting into and never hesitate. You always take that phone call, before 5:00 A.M or after 5:00 P.M. you are always there. Took this call just before 5:00 P.M. with more bad weather coming in, the tree ripped the powerline riser off of the home, punctured and also broke the roof in several areas and had a multi thousand pound log layed against the exterior wall. Within minutes, Rob True was on scene building a game plan with our crew, Jason Hurrle wasn't long behind Rob, ready and able to get the roof sealed up to mitigate further damage (water) to the home / structure. Within just a few hours, the tree was off of the structure, weathered in and the situation and structure was made safe.
All went well, all went safe and we were all able to make it home safe.

To my crew; Thank you for everything you do! I know tonight asked a lot from you, at one point being split in 3 - 4 directions ON 3 - 4 DIFFERENT JOB SITES, but we organized well, built a plan, communicated well when the plan changed, then all came together seamlessly with both companies and operated to the fullest of our abilities. We train and educate for these exact moments.

Our Community is lucky to have all of these fine companies rooted right here in Dowagiac!

It's that time again! First Saturdays Citywide Cleanup and Compost Site returns on Saturday, May 2.

On the First Saturday of the month through October, from 10 AM - 2 PM, our cleanup site will be open and accepting several items to help you keep your home and its grounds tidy (the exception is July, when the site will be open on July 11 instead of the 4th due to the holiday).

This season, we're pleased to share that local company Faithful Hauling Services will be our service provider.

We are very grateful to have been called in to assist with some obstructive trees that are preventing the installation of a new water main in Dowagiac Michigan. The crew doing the installation is a top notch crew (B&L Excavating of Wayland, MI.) These trees were removed not only; to avoid additional, otherwise unless parts in the main (which could create future failure points in the line). But, to reduce the risk to the contractor while excavating directly next to/under the trees.

Initiating 2026 with a strong foundation. The new Ausra Equipment kubota tractor is poised to assume a critical role in our operational framework. We expect to leverage it for various tasks, particularly with the loader, bucket, and sod tires, which will facilitate efficient removal of logs, debris, and materials from diverse surfaces and ground types while minimizing disturbance.
