Holidays are upon us. Calls have slowed down. I have enough work to get me to the end of the year. I've had to turn down several decent sized jobs due to the need to complete sooner than I could get to. Hopefully I have at least a few slow weeks to get stuff done around our house.
Some more do's and don'ts: use appropriate connectors when fishing wires into boxes, tape isn't an approved splicing method, don't use ground crimps and tape as a splicing method for hots and neutrals, use the correct sized wire for your breaker, use the correct sized breaker, splices in walls are not a good idea, crimp or splice grounds together correctly, don't use EMT in the ground (it will eventually corrode and be non-existent), lamp cord wire isn't a appropriate wiring method when extending a circuit (or at all), don't cut EMT, install a jbox between the cut emt, tape the exposed conductors so they "are protected" and tape a ground wire jumper to each side of the cut EMT. In general, do it right, these are mostly examples of non-qualified maintenace people doing electrical work.
All these examples are fire hazards, so beware who you hire to help you out.
Have a good upcoming Thanksgiving.
