We’ve seen plenty of systems that were pieced together poorly, set up wrong or just not built to do the job when water shows up.

The sump pump itself matters, but so do the details around it: how it’s installed, how it drains and whether the whole system is set up to actually work when it counts.

Good workmanship makes a difference.

If your home relies on a sump pump, give it a little attention before heavy fall rain.

Make sure it runs, the discharge line is clear and water is being moved away from the foundation.

A few minutes now can save a lot of stress later.
