Historic Restoration – The Potager Market, Saint Jo, Texas

We're honored to have completed the exterior restoration of The Potager Market, located just off the historic Saint Jo Square.

This project combined modern, low-maintenance materials with traditional architectural craftsmanship to preserve the building's historic character while preparing it for decades of service.

Project highlights include:
Standing seam metal roofing
James Hardie lap siding
Restoration of decorative cornice and trim details
Structural column restoration and replacement
Beadboard porch ceilings
Custom exterior trim and finish carpentry

Last week we asked everyone to guess what was inside this building... Here's the finished result!

What started as an idea became a custom indoor koi pond.

This project involved much more than erecting a metal building. From the initial site work to the finished interior, Hackett's Metal Works managed and completed every phase of the project, including:

✔ Spray foam insulation
✔ Premium metal liner panel system

Sometimes the best solution isn't the most obvious one.

This standing seam roof had multiple leak concerns caused by improper flashing around the skylights, roof penetrations, and ridge details. To make things even more challenging, the original panel profile had been discontinued, so replacement panels weren't available.

Instead of recommending a full roof replacement, we carefully removed and reinstalled 23 existing panels, corrected the underlying issues, and saved the homeowner tens of thousands of dollars.

Every roof is different. Our goal is to identify the root cause of the problem and recommend the solution that's best for the homeowner.

From a bare concrete slab to a finished outdoor pavilion.

We coordinated the concrete work, built the steel structure, and completed the roofing, siding, trim, and finishes to bring this project together.

Our goal was to create a covered outdoor gathering space that matched the existing shop and looked like it belonged there.

This was our second project for this customer, and we truly appreciate the opportunity to work with them again.

This home was due.

The old shingle roof had taken some storm damage and was reaching the end of its life — something we’re seeing a lot of lately around Nocona and Saint Jo after these recent storms.

We upgraded it to a Class 4 impact-resistant metal roofing system built to handle North Texas weather and last for years to come.

Big thank you to this customer for trusting us again — this is the third project we’ve completed for them. And proud of our crew for bringing this one together.
