Today we changed the pace and got after a 60 foot stretch of a 6 foot gothic-style fence that had previously blown over in the storms a few weeks back. Today, we went around town looking to help victims of the recent tornado. While the heart of the damaged area is virtually impassable with a trailer, we were able to find this tree and clean up for the homeowner before the rain hit.
Normanites, I highly encourage anyone physically capable to get out and offer a hand. If you have two legs to walk on, I promise you can be of help. Plenty of areas need debris dragged to the curb. If you have a chainsaw, there are limbs that need cut down. If you have a truck, you can offer assistance moving valuables, as countless people will be having to rehome, whether it be temporary or permanent.
This is a community effort. As a Norman native, I was raised to believe that we Okies help one another when in need. That’s a value I’ve believed in since my youth, and it’s just as true today as ever. Please, offer your neighbors a helping hand. I promise it’s more rewarding than catching up on your latest Netflix series!

Did you know that w**d seeds can remain in dormancy through multiple growing seasons? Dormancy is the period where a seed or established plant is alive, but not actively growing. This means that to maintain a w**d-free yard, regular treatments are necessary year after year.

❓🌲Did you know that the best time of year to trim most ornamental trees is in the winter while the tree is dormant? This is for several reasons. The tree is much less susceptible to damage from insects, bacteria and fungi as a result of cooler temperatures, cuts do not interfere with or stress active growth, and the lack of foliage gives better sight and access to the canopy of the tree.
