A deciduous holly, Winterberry(Ilex verticillata) blooms with little white flowers in the summer. But the luminous red berries that give it its name last throughout the winter. Next to the Ilex is white wood aster (Eurybia divaricata). Together they make a dynamic and festive color combination. πŸŒΊβ„οΈ

Where will the path take you?

We may be familiar with turkey tail(Trametes versicolor) for its abundant health properties such as a powerful antioxidant, immune system support, and inflammation treatment. πŸƒπŸ‚

But turkey tail's presence in forests is also crucial to woodland health. Stumps inoculated with turkey tail have been used as a protective barrier against the blight of parasitic fungal species such as the honey mushroom(Armillaria melea), a fungi that destroys forests by causing "white rot" root disease. 🌎🀲

Planning a new wildflower meadow? Fall can be an excellent time to plant perennial native seeds!

Meadows are one of our favorite projects because they are continually aesthetically and ecologically valuable. Site preparation most often entails soil restoration, and we can amend damaged and compacted soil. Part of our vision is to replace as many American lawns with meadows as possible. Let us know if you'd like to see that happen too.
