This install definitely came with a few extra challenges. After a recent storm brought down a large branch — and a live power line with it — our crew had to carefully navigate the storm damage while getting this new Haas garage door installed.

Situations like this are a great reminder that no two garage door jobs are exactly the same. Our goal is always to put safety first, adapt to whatever the job throws at us, and make sure our customers are taken care of.

🍂 Fall Garage Door Reminder from Above & Beyond Door Systems! 🍂

As the fall season approaches and temperatures begin to cool down, it’s a good time to give your garage door a little extra attention.

Garage door springs do a lot of heavy lifting every single day, and colder temperatures can sometimes be the final straw for a spring that’s already worn or weakened.

A few things to watch for:
• Your garage door feels heavier than normal
• The door struggles or won’t open
• You hear a loud bang from the garage
• The door opens unevenly or looks crooked
• You notice a gap in the spring above the door

If you notice any of these signs, avoid repeatedly using the opener and give Above & Beyond Door Systems a call. Garage door springs are under a lot of tension and should always be handled by a trained professional.

💡 MONDAY TIP OF THE DAY — GARAGE DOOR SAFETY! 🚪⚠️

Your garage door safety sensors may be small, but they play a HUGE role in keeping your family, pets, vehicles, and belongings safe.
Those little sensors located near the bottom of your garage door tracks are designed to detect something in the doorway and prevent the door from closing on it.

✅ A few quick sensor tips:

🔹 Keep the lenses clean — Dust, dirt, spider webs, and even water droplets can interfere with the sensor beam.

🔹 Make sure they’re aligned — If one sensor gets bumped by a broom, trash can, bike, or lawn equipment, your garage door may refuse to close.

🔹 Check for blinking lights — A flashing sensor light can often mean the sensors are misaligned or something is blocking the beam.

🔹 Don’t bypass them! — Safety sensors are there for a reason. Never permanently disable or reposition them just to get the door working.

🔹 Test them occasionally — While the garage door is closing, safely pass an object through the sensor beam. The door should immediately stop and reverse.

🚨 If your garage door closes even when the safety sensor beam is interrupted, stop using the door and have the system inspected.

A properly working garage door isn’t just about convenience — it’s about safety.
