At K-Con Construction, we’re celebrating teamwork both on and off the field! 🎉

This week, we brought the spirit to the office with Sports Day—jerseys, team pride, and plenty of fun to go around. 🏀⚾ But that’s not all we’re cheering for!

A huge congratulations to Layla Joyner, the daughter of our very own Candice Joyner, who has been a valued member of K-Con for 9 years. Layla has committed to Columbia College to further her academic and athletic career! She’ll be joining the Koalas as an outfielder, and we couldn’t be prouder of her dedication and drive. 🌟🥎

Here’s to teamwork, passion, and reaching new heights—whether in the office or on the field. Way to go, Layla!

Yesterday, K-Con hosted the 25th Annual Carolina Youth Development Center Thanksgiving Cookout. We are so thankful for all the team members, volunteers, and CYDC members who helped organize the event. It was a fantastic event full of food, prizes, music, laughter, and fun.

CYDC's mission is to empower and equip our community's vulnerable children by providing a safe environment, educational support, and career readiness in collaboration with families and community partners. It is an organization that holds a special place in K-Con's heart, and we always enjoy spending time with them around the holidays.

This past Monday, K-Con had the pleasure of participating in the 23rd Annual Golf Classic hosted by CYDC! What an incredible day filled with camaraderie, swings, and making a positive impact. Thank you, CYDC, for organizing such a fantastic event!

K-Con recently broke ground on another project and has been reminded that winter is coming. While many watched the Colorado State Football team get beat by the Air Force Academy in the snow on the 28th of October, few thought of the weather's impact on construction. Snowfall was between 4" and 6" and was enough to coat the site and impact site work for a few days.

Winter conditions often affect construction schedules. However, the impacts can be mitigated by making good decisions. K-Con's Superintendent, Thomas Lunder, shut the site down for two days to ensure construction equipment did not cause a bad situation and further delay the project. The snow has now melted, and we are right back to work!

The Owner of the building, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, will use the facility to study Chronic Wasting Disease in the deer population. The study is critical in understanding the disease and how it may be transmitted between species. We are honored to be a part of this project, and we can't wait to see the scientific discoveries uncovered once the new Pre-Engineered Metal Building is completed.

⛳ Flashback Friday at Topgolf! ⛳

Last week, the K-Con team spent Friday afternoon at Topgolf to host a send-off celebration for one of our project managers, Ben Watson. Ben is packing up and moving across the country and will work remotely for K-Con. We will miss seeing his face daily in the office, but we are happy he is only one video call away. K-Con wants to wish Ben and his family all the best on their new journey.

Our dedicated team is hard at work, and we're thrilled to share the exciting news of the progress we're making at the Bushy Park project. The metal wall panel installation is nearly complete, and we're gearing up for the next phase: the roof panels! This project has been a testament to teamwork, dedication, and craftsmanship. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to transform Bushy Park into something amazing!

Throwback Thursday!

We are near completion for the Metal Trades 80,000-square-foot Design-Build Pre-Engineered Fabrication Building, and we are looking back at the milestones we have accomplished. The most significant milestone occurred on May 24, 2023, when we celebrated the Topping-Out Ceremony. The final steel beam was a testament to the hard work, dedication, and collaboration that goes into bringing architectural dreams to life.

On May 24, 2023, K-Con celebrated the Topping-Out Ceremony for Metal Trades, Inc. (MTI) 80,000 SF Design-Build Pre-Engineered Building.

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, K-Con proudly wears pink to support survivors, fighters, and their loved ones.

This year, we celebrate one of our Project Administrators, Melissa Dodson, being breast cancer-free for five years!! Let's honor this incredible milestone and continue supporting Melissa's health and happiness journey.

Breast cancer affects us all, directly or indirectly, and we're committed to spreading awareness, fostering early detection, and supporting vital research. Together, we stand strong and united in the fight against breast cancer.
