We get it… a few 85–90° days hit and it feels like it’s time to turn the sprinklers on.
But here’s the truth
It’s still early spring.
Your soil is holding moisture from winter, nights are still cool, and your lawn simply doesn’t need irrigation yet.
👉 The biggest risk right now isn’t drought… it’s disease
Watering too early creates the exact conditions fungi love. And once disease sets in, it’s far more expensive and difficult to correct than it is to prevent.
Your grass is built for this transition period. It knows what it’s doing.
We’re working through irrigation startups now and will have your system ready well before you actually need it.
Trust the process. Be patient.
Better timing = healthier lawn
If you have questions, shoot us a message. We’re always happy to help.

Results do not lie.
Every year we hear it:
“Organics don’t work.”
“All I care about is results.”

Fair enough. We care about results too.

That’s exactly why our program is built around soil first fertility, premium inputs, and precision applications.

Do we eliminate chemicals entirely? No.
Do we dramatically reduce them without sacrificing w**d control, density, or color? Yes.
Do we incorporate organics into 8 of 10 treatments? Yes.

The lawns in these photos are real 2025 client properties across Central Arkansas.
Thick. Deep green. Consistent. Built season after season, not forced with shortcuts.

You can have opinions.
But you can't argue results.

Better Results. Less Chemicals.

Meet Patrick 👋

Around here, sales is not about pressure.

Patrick is our #1 sales professional because he genuinely cares about helping clients find the right solution.

And because our team earns ZERO commission (they are simply paid well), you can trust that any advice from Patrick or any NSH team member is truly in your best interest, not an attempt to maximize a sale.

Every client receives a FREE on-site meeting and evaluation. We walk the property with you, assessing soil conditions, w**d pressure, irrigation, pest and disease activity, turf type, and overall lawn health.

Based on our professional assessment and your goals, we build a plan that fits.
We set realistic expectations, even if it is not always what leads want to hear. Some lawns require more attention and investment. Some lawns may take a full season or longer to fully recover. That is simply the reality of horticare.

No overpromising. Just honest results.

Yes, we are expensive.

But price directly correlates to value.
Premium products.
Highly trained, well-compensated staff.
Lab-based soil testing.
Proactive communication.
Day-before notifications.
Free spot treatments for covered issues when appropriate.
Long-term soil improvement, not short-term green paint.

Patrick embodies that philosophy. He is not here to close deals. He is here to build relationships and deliver better results with less chemicals.

If you would like a thoughtful, on-site consultation and a plan tailored specifically to your property, we would love to meet you.

Better Results. Less Chemicals.

Most ornamental programs ONLY focus on spraying pests (using harmful chemicals).
We focus on building stronger plants.
At Natural State Horticare, our Ornamental Programs are designed around three pillars: fertility, protection, and expertise. Healthy, well-fed plants are naturally more resilient to insects, disease, and environmental stress. That is why we do not just show up with a spray tank. We show up with a plan.
🌿 The Natural State Ornamental Program (7 treatments)
Our premium, all-inclusive program. Fertility, pest management, disease prevention, seasonal rotations, and proactive monitoring. No upsells. If issues arise, we handle them.
🌿 Ornamental Essentials (5 treatments)
A streamlined option that still delivers professional fertility and targeted protection for homeowners who want strong results with fewer visits.
We use an organic-first approach whenever possible, intervene with premium targeted products when necessary, and rotate actives responsibly to protect pollinators.
Better Results. Less Chemicals.
If your ornamentals could use deeper green foliage, fuller growth, and stronger resistance to pests and disease, we would love to help.

If you have warm-season turf like Bermuda or Zoysia, this might be the most important mow of the entire year.
In this instructional video, I walk you step-by-step through how to properly perform a Spring Low Mow, sometimes called a scalp. When timed correctly, this process can give you up to 30 more days of green grass and dramatically improve the look and health of your lawn all season long.
But early green-up is only part of the story.
Removing the old, dead, decaying material from last season reduces disease pressure, limits insect habitat, improves sunlight pe*******on, and allows new growth to emerge evenly and aggressively. It is one of the simplest ways to set the tone for a thick, healthy lawn.
A few quick reminders:
• Only do this on fully dormant warm-season turf such as Bermuda or Zoysia
• Bag and remove debris
• Follow with proper fertility and pre-emergent timing
• Do not attempt this on fescue or cool-season grasses
At Natural State Horticare, this is one of the foundational practices we use to build golf-course-quality lawns with fewer chemicals and a soil-first approach.
If you want the results, the timing and ex*****on matter.
Better Results. Less Chemicals.

Low mowing in early spring ensures a healthier, faster-greening lawn while reducing the need for chemicals and fungicides. By following these guidelines, your zoysia or Bermuda grass will transition into the growing season stronger, greener, and disease-free.

Galentine’s Spa Day… for You and Your Lawn
Who says self-care has to stop at the spa?
This playful (and yes, AI-generated 😉) scene captures the ultimate Galentine’s vibe. Pedicures. Mimosas. Lounging in the backyard. Kids running barefoot. Husbands working on their short game. And a lawn so healthy it feels like carpet under your feet.
While you treat yourself, we treat your turf.
At Natural State Horticare, we focus on soil-first fertility and spot-spray-only w**d control to deliver premium results with significantly fewer chemicals. The result is a lawn that looks incredible and feels safe for kids, pets, and everyday living.
Better Results. Less Chemicals.
A Better Way to Green.

Natural State Horticare was built on a simple belief: you should not have to choose between a beautiful lawn and peace of mind.
From day one, we committed to doing things differently. A soil-first approach. Spot-spray-only w**d control. Premium products. Highly trained horticultural specialists. Fewer chemicals applied with more intention.
We openly admit it. We are not the cheapest option in Central Arkansas. We never set out to be.
Doing things the right way takes more time, better products, and people who genuinely care. It means reducing chemical inputs wherever possible without sacrificing results. It means educating our clients. It means prioritizing safety for kids, pets, and pollinators while still delivering lawns that rival golf courses.
We are built for homeowners who care deeply about results and safety.
For those who value expertise, communication, and long-term soil health.
For those who believe their lawn deserves more than a one-size-fits-all approach.
If that sounds like you, welcome to A Better Way to Green.

Last week, a few of our team members spent the day volunteering at the Arkansas Food Bank.

Nothing big, just pitching in, working alongside good people, and doing something useful for our community.

We’re lucky to work together every day, and it was genuinely fun to step outside our normal routines and help in a different way. It also served as a good reminder that strong communities are built the same way healthy lawns are: steady effort, consistency, and people who care enough to do the work.

We’re grateful for the opportunity and look forward to finding more ways to engage with our community in meaningful, productive ways moving forward.

Keep your trees healthy and looking their best!
Pruning incorrectly can expose your trees to pests and diseases. And the worst part is, recovery can take years :/

The do's and don'ts of crape myrtle pruning. Avoid scale and other issues by properly pruning and maintaining your trees.

Not all lawn care is created equal.

You can go cheaper.
Or you can choose a soil-first, golf-course-level approach that prioritizes safety, results, and long-term health.

We’re upfront about it:
• We’re slightly more $$$
• We use premium products and methods
• We reduce chemical exposure whenever possible
• We test soil instead of guessing
• We don’t upsell — we advise

That difference shows up in thicker turf, deeper roots, safer lawns for kids and pets, and results that compound year after year.

There are cheaper ways to green a lawn.
This just happens to be the better way.
