Congratulations to Dr. CleJetter Cousins of the University of North Carolina at Pembroke on being selected as part of the inaugural class of the AEJMC/Lillian Lodge Kopenhaver Fellowship for the Empowerment of Early-Career Women in Communication Education!
Chosen among five exceptional women nationwide, Dr. Cousins joins this prestigious year-long fellowship focused on mentorship, leadership, teaching pedagogy, research and scholarly productivity, and PF&R service. A former journalist with more than 20 years of experience in newspapers and television news, her work and research continue to center on storytelling, education, and minority representation in media.
As a 2026 UNCP Outstanding Teaching Award recipient, Dr. Cousins will also participate in programming at the 2026 AEJMC Conference in New Orleans and the 2027 AEJMC Conference in Chicago as she continues to inspire the next generation of communication professionals and scholars.
