If your electrical panel is on a south-facing wall or in a hot garage, the Texas sun can actually make your breakers "trip" more easily. Heat causes the metal inside your breakers to expand, sometimes cutting your power even if you aren't overloading the circuit! If your breakers are acting moody as the temp rises, it might be time for a summer health check.

Most people only worry about lightning when the lights go out. But in June, frequent "micro-surges" from distant summer storms can act like a slow leak in your electronics - silently wearing down your fridge, TV, and AC motor until they quit unexpectedly. 🔌❌ Don't wait for a total blowout to protect your gear. A whole-home surge protector handles those "silent" strikes so your appliances can live their longest life. Let Hop2It give you the ultimate summer shield!

It’s one of the most common questions homeowners ask, and while it’s usually a simple fix, it’s not something you should ignore! The Answer: In most cases, this happens because a high-wattage appliance - like your AC unit, refrigerator, or microwave - draws a large "inrush" of current when it first starts up.

It’s one of the most common DIY "shortcuts," but it’s actually a major safety hazard.

The Reality: Electrical tape is designed for minor insulation repairs or as a temporary secondary layer. It is not a substitute for proper wire splicing or replacing a damaged cord. Over time, the adhesive on the tape dries out, becomes brittle, or unravels due to heat, leaving the live copper wire exposed once again.

The Pro Fix: If a cord or wire is frayed, the only safe solutions are to replace the cord entirely or have a licensed electrician properly cut, strip, and reconnect the wires using approved connectors and a junction box.

Don’t put a Band-Aid on a bridge fire - if it’s frayed, it’s got to go! ⚡️
