Are your shoes turning orange after walking through your lawn?

You may have lawn rust--a common fungal disease that often appears when grass is stressed and growing slowly.

The good news? Lawn rust is usually cosmetic and rarely kills an established lawn. Proper watering, mowing, and fertilization can help the grass recover. Fungicide treatments may also help to control severe outbreaks.

🌡️Hot weather is here!

With temperatures expected to reach the 90's over the next couple weeks, you may start to see signs of heat stress on your lawn. Here are a few tips to keep it healthy:

💧Water deeply, not daily. Aim for 1-1.5 inches of water per week including irrigation and rainfall. Water early in the morning to reduce evaporation and give your lawn the best chance to absorb moisture.

🌱Keep your mower height at 3.5" or above. The taller grass will shade the soil to help retain moisture and encourage deeper root growth.

🍂 Leave the grass clippings to return valuable nutrients and help the soil hold moisture naturally.

😴 Don't panic if your lawn turns brown. Cool-season grasses in Ohio commonly go dormant during prolonged heat and drought to protect itself. It typically greens back up when there is consistent rainfall and cooler temps.

🍄 Seeing mushrooms pop up in your lawn this week?

Even though we haven't had much rain lately, the combination of high humidity, warm temperatures, and heavy morning dew has created the perfect conditions for mushrooms to appear.

The good news? In most cases, they're not harmful to your lawn. Mushrooms are simply breaking down organic matter beneath the soil and are usually a temporary cosmetic issue.

🌱 W**d control season is officially underway!

As w**ds become active this spring, our treatments are designed to work down into the root system for longer-lasting control — which means results are not always instant. It’s normal for w**ds to gradually curl, discolor, and fade over 1–3 weeks after treatment.

Also important to remember: we can only treat w**ds that are currently up and growing, so new w**ds may continue appearing throughout the spring season.

Consistency is key to building a healthier, thicker lawn over time.
