For this beautiful lakefront equestrian home, we blended original farmhouse charm with modern luxury—weaving together coastal water tones, warm organic woods, and sleek contemporary lines and warm gold metals.

Ever have a project that you just wanted to go smoothly?!? Yeah, well that wasn’t this one and I had hoped that it would since we were trying to build a new relationship.

The sink base was ordered in December, kept getting on delayed backorder because of its color and of course it was holding everything up- template, tile, completion. It didn’t arrive until the end of March. Fillers were LABELED correctly, but came shipped in a different size.

There’s things that I can control and these weren’t one of them. Then, there was more cut off on this tile than usual because of its funky shape. So, we needed to get this tile brought in from Rochester because it was sold out in Buffalo (we actually bought out all the stock on this one).

One of the end panels came in damaged like 3 times and I couldn’t control that either. But, as designers we always feel responsible and try our best to just fix things and quickly.

That is ONE of the many values designers bring to this job. AI hasn’t built personal relationships with brands and people to help you when s**t hits the fan. We span beyond wall color selection and pretty things.

I mean, in the end this is an AMAZING air bnb, but it was a marathon that gave me anxiety and the hiccups.

This client was brought to me and shows how much she trusted Alex and his team because she didn’t meet me until months after I took her payment in full. That was a huge leap of faith and I know she loved it!

Also, this blue changed colors in every photo. It is the powderyest beautiful blue you have ever seen.

Proof that high-end design is all about the mix. ✨

Who says builder-grade cabinets can’t look like luxury cabinetry? The secret to elevated interior design isn’t spending a fortune on every single finish—it’s knowing how to seamlessly layer high-low elements so the entire space feels rich, bespoke, and undeniably expensive.

For this upscale Airbnb kitchen design, we paired classic builder cabinets with a breathtaking, luxury marble and mother of pearl tile. We even had a fresh batch hand-delivered straight from Rochester to keep the vision alive when he realized there was going to be more than usual waste cuts.

A high-end looking kitchen remodel like this takes serious master craftsmanship. Alex AVM Homes Construction and his incredible team tacked an unbelievably complex tile installation with total precision with a stunning final result. Alex is unbelievably skilled in the fine finish work and details. It’s beautiful in real life, I couldn’t find a single flaw.

The luxury inspired details, custom tile fitting, and seamless finish truly made this high-concept kitchen come together beautifully.

Whether you’re booking your next luxury stay or saving this for bespoke kitchen inspiration, this space proves that smart design and expert installation make all the difference.

Wouldn’t you LOVE to stay here? I WISH I had the before’s!

Now you see it... now you don’t! ✨

We can’t reveal the entire full kitchen just yet, but we couldn’t resist sharing a sneak peek of this custom design feature!

Swipe to see the ultimate transformation (and wait until you see the before pictures)!

One of the biggest design challenges for this project was finding a seamless way to integrate a full washer and dryer directly inside the kitchen without sacrificing style, counter space, or flow.

The Solution: A perfect hybrid design combining semi-custom and fully custom cabinetry!

Huge shoutout to Creekside Custom Workshop LLC for executing my vision down to the perfect detail. That custom solid walnut wood top he crafted ties into the rest of the kitchen seamlessly (wait until you see it)!

Designing inside the historic Gates Circle Condominiums—and on the 9th floor, no less—came with its own unique set of logistics and spatial challenges (stay tuned, because we will definitely be talking about those hurdles in an upcoming post!).

Custom solutions, smart storage, and zero compromise on aesthetic. Is this design not absolute perfection or what?

We removed a beautiful, historic butler’s pantry from this home. Here’s why we did it.

When you buy an older home, you fall in love with its character. The original trim, the quirky layouts, the history. So when it comes time to renovate, the biggest fear for most homeowners is “renovating the soul right out of the house.”

I get it. It’s terrifying.

In this kitchen, we faced a massive dilemma: there was a gorgeous, original butler’s pantry. But it completely cut off the flow of the room, making the kitchen feel dark, cramped, and impossible for a modern family to actually cook and spend time together in.

So, we made the tough call to take it down. But we didn’t strip the home’s history—we just reimagined it.
To keep that old-world soul intact while giving them a modern layout, we left clues of the past everywhere:

✨The Original Floors: Instead of tearing them out, we kept and meticulously refinished the original hardwood.

✨The Custom Cabinetry: We chose an “inset” cabinet style for some of the space, giving them that flush, seamless look that mimics original, century-old craftsmanship.

✨The Hardware: We salvaged the original hardware from the old pantry and reused it on the brand-new cabinet doors.

The final touch? The homeowners brought their own fabulous, funky style to the space with those playful pink walls you. Combined with the warm statement lighting, it proves you don’t have to live in a museum to honor your home’s history.

Smart design isn’t about saving every single old wall; it’s about making thoughtful trades so your home actually works for the way your family lives today.

Thinking about renovating an older home but scared of losing its charm? I am the perfect kitchen designer, my specialty 20 years ago were North Buffalo and tiny Elmwood Village kitchens. I was born and raised in North Buffalo on Sterling Avenue✨This home was featured on the Parkside Community Association tour of homes!

I love creating, whether it’s a design, a piece of art or making a craft and I always like to make mine unique (think those paint nights, I would flip mine on the side no one was using).

It was super cool when Siblings | Clean Candles reached out to me to ‘make my own candle.’ I of course said yes bc your girl loves candles. I do not own a microwave and this was really simple to put into boiling water and melt. This smell- Bergamot, oak moss and wild rose is really pretty and that small candle makes Monarch’s showroom smell wonderful.

I love the idea of being able to purchase just the wax so I can use a cool vintage vessel to turn into a candle. It could be a fun little craft project to do with your kiddos, too.

Thank you, Siblings | Clean Candles for this candle, I love it!

Here is the thing, you call me to solve a problem (typically function, aesthetic, spacing, storage) and it is my job to solve it. You want your washer and dryer in the kitchen, that’s fine it’s how you live best in your home. But, it doesn’t need to be ugly.

What I DO need from you, my client, is some deep faith that the crazy suggestions will lead to something better than you could imagine.

These lovely clients chief complaints were- lack of storage, not counter space, dark, can’t have parties and entertain their guests at the same time, they wanted to keep the washer and dryer in the kitchen and have their TV in the dining room.

Not only did I remove the ONLY window in the kitchen, we also shrunk the window in the pantry. But, I knew that removing the wall between the two spaces was going to make it more than bright enough. Especially, because we were adding recessed ceiling lights, under cabinet and island.

This particular client was wild, I worked with his mom like 20 years ago and he was a literal toddler when I first met him. When I figured out WHO he was I just about had a stroke because he owns a house and I was redoing his kitchen and it was literally just 5 year ago when I worked with her.

They trusted the process, they voiced and likes and dislikes and we married all of them together to create this space that works so well for them.

When we went to shoot it they had already had parties of 20+ people and how this space completely changed their ability to actually be able to interact with their people.

Truly, that’s all I want- I do commonly hear when people reach out that their spaces aren’t as cool as my projects or budgeting or a number of other things. But, the reality is that I *TRULY* want to create spaces that you live best in. Ones that create memories, ones that get all of the things out of your basement and into the actual kitchen. I want to work with cool homeowner and make you happy. Really, that is it-

Perhaps my favorite wallpaper to date, but honestly I say that every time.

I couldn’t love murals more, this particular one mimics their back yard (the Niagara River), I think it’s exactly what it would have looked like during the trade era of the early 1800’s.

Clouds on the ceiling, black and white on the floor- I am what you can call, ‘semi-pro.’ ✨

I can’t wait to show the reveal!

We did it again ✨🖤✨
