Sterling Contracting Celebrates the Completion of the New Milford Food Bank Facility

This week marks a milestone that touches the heart of our entire region: the open house of the Milford Food Bank’s brand-new facility. The open house is this Saturday, May 2, from 12-3PM. A free lunch as well as free soft serve ice cream will be served. At Sterling Contracting, we believe a building is more than just concrete and steel, and in this case, a lifeline to families in need. We are humbled to have stood alongside local partners to help provide a permanent home for a mission that feeds the hungry and shares hope across Northern Indiana.

When we first learned of the Food Bank’s vision to expand its reach, we knew we couldn’t sit on the sidelines. The Milford Food Bank serves as a vital lifeline for families, and it was our privilege to reach out to our network of suppliers and join forces with the dedicated team at B & B Roofing & Construction.

This project was never about business; it was about community. Seeing the way our local partners stepped up to support the Food Bank’s mission of providing food and sharing the love of Jesus has been a truly moving experience. We are simply grateful to play a small part in a much larger story.

This achievement was made possible by the selfless generosity of several local companies who put the needs of our community first:

Smith Ready Mix demonstrated incredible hometown spirit by donating 50% of the concrete. Freedom Rebar & Concrete Supply, Inc., provided the essential material for the project by donating all rebar and concrete supplies. Kuert Concrete provided a significant price break, ensuring every donated dollar went further toward feeding families. Hoosier Concrete Pumping offered its specialized services at a deeply reduced rate to ensure the project’s success. Sterling Contracting was honored to donate the labor, remaining concrete, and materials to complete the full concrete scope—from the foundation to the sidewalks. It is our hope that this provides a solid foundation for the Milford Food Bank to continue its vital work for decades to come.

We want to extend our deepest "thank you" to the Milford Food Bank for allowing us to serve you, and to our fellow contractors and suppliers for stepping up to help the Milford Food Bank reach its goal.
