We are officially in hail season in Colorado. If you don’t follow Denver & Front Range Weather, you need to! Kody consistently provides real time and up to date weather information. Outside of weather maps, this is how we stay informed and ready for severe weather ☀️🔥💨
It’s gonna be a busy few days around here as a potent storm system impacts the region Sunday into Monday. We’ll continue to be warm and blowy ahead of it on Friday.
Friday brings a few scattered showers and thunderstorms, most numerous south of I-70.
On Saturday, southwest flow ramps up in the mountains and clashes with southeasterly surface winds across the eastern plains.
That setup will help create a dryline, where strong to severe thunderstorms could fire up Saturday afternoon and Saturday night, most numerous along and north of I-70 across the northern Front Range, northeast plains of Colorado, western Kansas, and western portions of Nebrasky.
I’ve included areas south of I-70 down to the Hwy 50 corridor to account for uncertainty in the storm track.
Damaging winds, large hail, and a brief tornado or two will all be possible Saturday, with that severe weather risk potentially continuing into Sunday ahead of the main storm system.
Then Sunday night into Monday, much colder air crashes in as the main storm system moves through, bringing a whole new set of weather headaches to talk about. 😅
So yeah, it’s gonna be one of those stretches. Be patient, check in with me a little more frequently than you normally would, and as always, I’ll keep you updated so there are no surprises.
K thanks bye!
