Congratulations to our 2026 Apprenticeship of the year Bailey Phommalee and our newest members. The UA has reached a milestone at 400,078 members nation wide. Here at Local 50 we have 2000 members that cover HVAC - Plumbing - Refrigeration - Welding and Pipefitting. It takes the whole membership to participate and take the required training to be leaders in our Industry.

Local 50 is extremely proud to announce that Jesse Lopez has won the District 2 competition in Lansing tonight. He will compete at the National Competition in Ann Arbor in August. Jesse has done a phenomenal job representing our great Local. Wish him luck at Nationals !!

The 2026 State Apprenticeship Competition has come to an end. We are extremely proud of this years contestants for representing our membership in such a phenomenal way. This year we have 4 state place winners. We are all super proud of your efforts !! Congratulations to these young men.

These Apprentices will be representing Local 50 at the State Competition in Akron at Local 219's Training Center next week. Andrew Hovis - Welder, Dane Diesing - Steamfitter, Carter Jacob - Plumber, & Jesse Lopez - MES. If you see them on a jobsite be sure to wish them luck on the competition. Local 50 and our Officers and JATC are extremely proud of these young men.

To all that knew Richard Scott here at Local 50 we wanted to share his Visitation and Funeral information. Richard Scott was one of the most pleasant people to be around and he will be deeply missed by all that knew him. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers.

UA Local 50 had a special visitor today at the Children's Christmas Party !! Santa stopped by to eat lunch and take pictures with member's kids today. To say we are blessed is an understatement. Thanks to everyone that made today possible !! What a great time to be in the UA.
