As of November 1, 2022, Brett's Cutting Edge is no longer offering Lawn and Landscape services nor Snow Removal Services. We are excited to specialize in Irrigation and Outdoor Lighting as Zone Irrigation Co. Our services will include sprinkler start up's, maintenance, winterizations and any outdoor lighting needs.

This retaining wall was rebuilt 2 times over 4 years. We were called in to see why it kept failing, once we got into it there was not proper backfill, base or drainage on the backside of the wall. After so many times of the block being reused and glue built up we had to go with new material so we could make sure it lasted for many years to come. We ended up switching to a natural limestone and making sure we built the wall properly with drainage, Landscape fabric on the backside of the wall and using a clean limestone instead of dirt and egg rock which made this wall continue to lean outward.

After multiple failed retaining walls and an unsafe area we fixed this for the last time. We started by installing a small boulder retaining wall under the deck since we could bury the posts. After that we brought in over 100 yards of fill and topsoil to make the grade gradual down to the driveway. We also made the area more usable by adding some High Format dimensional steps to get down to the lower level of the house. The job was finished off with some premium seed and ez-straw seeding mulch. Before and after of a gravel driveway we did in Plymouth, MI. After we cleaned up the driveway we installed fresh 21aa limestone on top.

Installed 5 8' Norway Spruce on the backside and 4 8' Black hills spruce in the front to provide both homeowners privacy at their pools.

Remove existing retaining wall that was installed improperly and reinstalled Keystone Compac Hewnstone in Walnut color. Also added egg rock and Ohio Blue flagstone as a walking path to make mowing easier for the homeowner.
