Each intern proudly showcased their summer projects and experiences, shared their goals, and highlighted their key takeaways. Last week, our team proudly participated in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)'s Safe + Sound Week, a nationwide event dedicated to recognizing the success of workplace health and safety programs and enhancing workplace safety. Throughout the week, we focused on Safety Recognition, emphasizing its critical role in motivating teams to achieve safety goals. During our daily safety huddles, we discussed the importance of Safety Recognition and the steps to ensure a safer work environment for everyone. We are honored to received recognition from OSHA for participating in Safe + Sound Week! Join us in emphasizing a safety culture that protects our workforce!

Every year at Henry Ford SandCastles Grief Support Program for Children and Families Camp, grieving children and teens come together for a weekend of shared joy, healing, and community with others walking similar paths. DeMaria was honored to sponsor lunch on August 14th, and to volunteer by assembling support bags for all the campers, as well as sanding and painting reflection walls for the children to express themselves. Darren Murray, our Executive Vice President and Principal, joined Bill Ash of SmithGroup and Robert Yurk from the University of Michigan for a dynamic session at the AIA Michigan & AGC Michigan 83rd Annual Mid-Summer Conference. Their presentation, The Edward & Rosalie Ginsberg Building Toward Carbon Neutrality & Humanism, highlighted how the Ginsberg Center’s design integrated environmental and social wellness through daylit, naturally ventilated spaces, a geo-exchange system, and mass timber construction. Attendees gained practical insights into creating resilient, collaborative, and carbon-neutral environments, and we’re proud to be part of such an eco-friendly project.

Our volunteers truly had a fulfilling time helping to assemble backpacks for VOA Michigan’s Operation Backpack. This back-to-school drive provides new backpacks filled with supplies for thousands of children in need across the state. A new full backpack can significantly boost self-confidence and academic performance. VOAMI partners with local Intermediate School Districts (ISDs) and homeless shelters to ensure every child receives the tools they need to flourish academically. The Frankel Cardiovascular Center EP Lab is reaching its finished stages! It was exciting to see the staff and guests tour the lab today. We are proud to have contributed to a project that will significantly improve patient care in our community.
