We're excited introduce our to School to Work program, where we hope to empower the next generation of skilled workers.

This is a fantastic new opportunity for high school students who are interested in a career in bricklaying! With our School to Work program, students who meet the requirements set by their school district are eligible to begin taking construction courses including masonry applications. Interviews will be held near the end of junior year for students who wish to apply for an apprenticeship with Local 8. After the interviews are completed, students may receive offers from the union to begin the apprenticeship. Once the student has made their choice, they will go to work for a Union Contractor after their junior year is over. During this time the student/apprentice will earn 50% of the Journeyperson wage; up to $18/hr. Students will return for their Senior year, attending class in the morning and reporting to the job in the afternoon. We are now accepting applications for this program. Local 8 staff is excited to continue implementing though out our 65 counties!
